Online shopping - one delivery then no more to my address they say !

Any one had this problem with Morrisons online ordering?

I bought a 6 month delivery pass 10 days ago then placed an order for delivery on 1 April (first one I could get) and I've edited it a few times (mainly items I had forgotten). I've ordered enough for a week but I'll have to go out for bread. Hope everything comes.

We are self isolating as both 70+. I've tried this week a few times to do another order for mid April perhaps.

Morrison site says there are no dates available for my address and to select another address !

Have you used Morrisons and placed and order before one has been delivered? How do I do it?

Wondering now if my £20 (delivery pass) was wasted with Morrisons. I plan to risk it and do a shop or try click and collect with Asda. No dates with Sainsbury's.

Oh! I've sent a message to Morrisons (via facebook) on Monday but no reply as yet.

It's kind of you to say it may be you but I'm sure it is I (now I'm dying to say "Le Clerc", - from 'All 'Allo). Start again: It's almost certainly my garbled explanation GracesGranMK3 and not you! I am I fear to say, known for long and complicated sentences for which I apologise and will try to do better! Plus - excuses tut tut - my laptop jumps backwards in the text and prints garbled things I haven't had time to see. Anyway, whatever I said, unless it was take care of yourself and try not to worry, just ignore me! I was exhausted when I woke up yesterday and by the evening I was useless!

I do hope you are getting on as well as possible and that the situation isn't pulling you down.

To all who are under house arrest house-bound and unable to get deliveries I pray an angel will come to you soon.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chestnut.

To be totally honest, one of our sons can get us bits and bobs if necessary, but as he and dil are already struggling, with working from home and keeping the children occupied, plus are limited to how many essential items they can buy when they do their own shopping, I don't want to ask for their help unless I absolutely have to (though I wouldn't dream of asking anyone else while this option exists).

Online shopping is the obvious answer for us, and hopefully will see us through the next few weeks, assuming my existing orders come, but after that, who knows.
We are currently two and a half weeks through a three and a half week wait for our first order to be delivered, so all the 'emergency' bread and milk that I had in the freezer will be gone by the time that comes, and can't be replenished in the near future.

Right now, I just keep reminding myself that there are a lot of people in a much worse position.

PS GracesGranMK3

I was whole-heatedly agreeing with your being horrified at the attitude of ungrateful, selfish customers yelling at Supermarket staff. These Staff are doing a great service coming in to work to help people have the food and essential items they need. Well done for mentioning it!

A friend of mine hasnt been able to get an online slot for weeks from Morrisons, shes tried phoning but its all automated messages and then cuts off.

GracesGranMK3 Fri 27-Mar-20 10:50:27

I get that they need to keep the slots for the shielded group in the first instance and for those who are self-isolating although there should be some form of registration for that second group, both to offer help and to stop anyone using the status unreasonably.

I am actually unsure where those who are simply over 70. We kept hearing that we were going to be asked to isolate - but is that what has happened? It seems not. So we can go shopping? Or not? Perhaps it needs some clarification.

GracesGranMK3 Fri 27-Mar-20 10:57:39

Morrisons are changing their system Wibby, in order to create more slots. This in response to the fact that they were simply not set up to serve so many extra customers. The government just assumed they could increase this side of their business but they need time to do that.

I know that doesn't help your friend but does your Local Authority have a helpline so she can arrange for someone to shop and deliver until things improve?

Lizbethann55 Fri 27-Mar-20 11:17:56

I ordered one of their food boxes. I mentioned it on another post so will also be reporting back on there too. I came this morning. You get no choice other than meat eaters or vegetarian. It was delivered by DPD in a cardboard box and costs £30. I added up the cost as best I could as some of the items aren't even on the website and it came to £28.65. A reasonable mixture, including milk, bread, pasta (vegan!), bacon, sausages, mince, some veg, loo paper, soup. I was lucky in that I heard about it very early. As word spreads it will harder to access I suspect. I could certainly get a good few meals from it. Hopefully the other supermarkets will pick up on the idea.

MamaCaz Fri 27-Mar-20 11:26:31

I would order one of those right now - if they had any delivery slots available sad

Lizbethann55 Fri 27-Mar-20 11:40:06

I am definitely losing the plot. This was where I originally posted about the food box! I was sent a text giving me a one hour delivery notice. I enjoyed opening it. I had ordered two boxes so I could split it between family and neighbours but only one came. I must check I haven't been charged for two. I thought there may have been some fruit and maybe a packet of biscuits just to cheer the spirits. I guess they put in what they have. It is good that we like sausages and bacon as there were two packs of both. With hindsight i would have ordered a meat eaters and a vegetarian box. But well done Morrisons

Hadn't realised the cat was photobombing my efforts! No cat food so he wasn't interested!

Elegran Fri 27-Mar-20 12:13:14

When quantities of so many things are restricted, I am not surprised that they only delivered one to you.

JuliaM Sat 28-Mar-20 15:28:59

I think the slots are rationed to one per week, and you cannot book another slot until 7days after you receive your delivery. That is certainly what l have been finding with the Iceland deliveries and I'm registered as a regular customer and within the vulnerable group. I can no longer book a regular weekly delivery like l used to have.

Chestnut Sat 28-Mar-20 18:25:02

Does anyone know how the supermarkets can tell that we're over 70 years? There is a place to register if you're vulnerable but it only applies to people with medical conditions. Yet the supermarket says it will prioritise elderly too. My over 70 friend has been contacted by Sainsbury and had a delivery but I am registered with Waitrose and I can't see how they know my age.

Callistemon Sat 28-Mar-20 18:30:40

This is another downside of devolution.
The priority slot system for the vulnerable elderly is only organised for England.

Daddima Sat 28-Mar-20 19:06:25

Chestnut, I think I gave my date of birth to Sainsbury when I began using home deliveries. I’ve given up trying to contact them to say I’m vulnerable.
I placed an order with Iceland this morning, and only had to click to say I was pension age or vulnerable. No slots appeared immediately, but when I refreshed the page I got a choice of two slots tomorrow. I have used them before, but don’t know if that’s relevant.

MamaCaz Sat 28-Mar-20 19:16:15

After some of you mentioned Iceland, I thought we would try them, but it seems that they don't deliver here.
Strange, because there was one of their delivery vans parked across the road earlier. I suppose he could have been en route to or from another area though, and got caught out by an over-the-weekend road closure at the bottom of our lane!

I tried again last night, at midnight, to get a Tesco slot, but the same happened as the night before, with the brand new slots (for delivery in three weeks time) all gone within seconds. I was too slow. I'm wondering whether to stay up and try again tonight, in hope of third time lucky.

Purpledaffodil Sat 28-Mar-20 19:34:18

Some worrying stories here. I was lucky enough to be contacted by Sainsbury’s and offered a slot because I must have given my date of birth years ago when I first registered.
My order arrived on Friday and was reasonably ok, although bread flour and several other items were missing. I have made my own bread for about ten years and wonder how many aspirational bags of bread flour are languishing unused in the nation’s larders? But I feel very fortunate and hope others will get their slots soon.

Jaycee5 Sat 28-Mar-20 19:43:38

Purpledaffodil That may be why I found quite a number of deliver slots for Sainsbury's but when I tried again they were blocked out for weeks.
I can't avoid going to the ships next week if I can't find a slot somewhere.
We Waitrose you press a notification to say that you are over 65 or vulnerable but it makes no difference. I had trouble logging on to Iceland. Might try Morrisons tomorrow but not with any confidence. I just hope the shop isn't too busy. At least I dont need toilet paper.
It's hay fever season now so I am bound to start coughing or sneezing at the worst time.

Purpledaffodil Sat 28-Mar-20 19:55:53

Jaycee5 suspect you are right. Sainsbury’s do seem to be prioritising. Whereas suspect it’s a matter of luck with other supermarkets. A friend who is over 70 tried to register with Sainsbury’s though and got a message saying no new registrations. Such a lottery! ?

MamaCaz Sat 28-Mar-20 20:03:30

I've just managed to order a Morrison's food box, delivery on Wednesday!

I had been trying repeatedly since yesterday morning, but they had no delivery slots, then ten minutes ago, suddenly, success ☺

NonnaAnna Sat 28-Mar-20 23:50:08

From what I’ve read online, anyone who has bought an online shopping pass will have their membership frozen as the shops try and delivery to those who have serious health conditions and those over 70.
In order to get priority on the online slots you have to register
here
www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable

Then in time once your details have been verified they send your details to all the supermarkets, and when you log in it will be noted that your on the vulnerable list of whatever store you use.

MamaCaz Sun 29-Mar-20 08:49:34

Third time unlucky trying to get a delivery slot for three week's time.
This time, I was refreshing the page as they uploaded the new slots, and my link broke. It took about a minute to re-establish it, by which time they were all 'unavailable'.

GeorgyGirl Sun 29-Mar-20 15:33:46

We too are in limbo so to speak, not vulnerable enough for the government but we both have health issues. Caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to online deliveries, cannot get a slot, just hope Waitrose honour the delivery we managed to book several weeks ago for April.

Chestnut Sun 29-Mar-20 23:47:06

Me too GeorgyGirl as I'm in the older group and with mobility problems but not vulnerable. They seem to have got delivery slots for the vulnerable but not for us yet. Hoping this will come soon.

Of course the other group who need deliveries are the infected who can't go out, but I'll bet there are people with corona who are going shopping because they can't get a delivery.

Marmight Mon 30-Mar-20 02:21:00

I woke up Just after midnight so thought I’d log in & try to get a Tesco slot. Very surprised, not to mention excited, to immediately be put in a queue ‘to choose my slot’. 45 minutes later it was my turn. No slots available. No surprise there, so decided to try my luck on Click & Collect which I have never done before. No slots until I got to the last option where one date & time 19 April, was winking at me. Eureka! My patience has been rewarded. I’m in the over 70 category, but assume I’m allowed to drive there.? Otherwise I’ll have to look for a volunteer. As I don’t need a huge amount I’ll ask the neighbours if they want to add anything to my list. It seems crazy to take up a slot for just a small amount of shopping.
