I found a funnel lurking at the back of a rarely used cupboard! So that’s one less thing to have to buy.
Tried it out with my trial run of the soup, which dh and I finished for lunch yesterday.
That was with just 2 cans of plum tomatoes - I’m going to need 16 for the amount they want!

Another dyspraxic here Witzend, definitely pan to jug and then jug to container. And yes, I always spill some too. The things we do for our grandchildren.

Witzend

Just heard that they would preferably like 8 litres, since that’s the capacity of whatever they’ve got to warm it up in.

I do like the idea of the milk bottles, teacheranne, but all our milk comes to the doorstep in glass. I suppose I could always cancel for a few days and buy a couple of those mega-bottles though, so thanks!
Would also need a funnel for pouring it in, so that’s something else for the shopping list.

I managed to pour my soup in using a jug - pan to jug to milk bottle! Mind you, I am clumsy due to having dyspraxia so always spill some!

Thanks again, Teacheranne - I grabbed some of those big bottles from a neighbour’s recycling!

I made soup for a refreshments stall and put it in the large plastic milk bottles - well washed out of course! The soup was cold when I put it in and was reheated in the church hall. No spillages in the car and easy to pour out into the pans.

I rashly volunteered to make some, nothing too much of a faff, so decided on tomato, using tinned tomatoes.

Because there are now so many non-dairy and vegans, I adapted a couple of recipes, which turned out nice enough, but then added a small jar of roasted red pepper paste, which has added that extra something.

So the recipe is sorted, but still have to think about transporting 5 litres of it (20 odd mugfuls) for an hour and a half in the car! However I think a couple of the tall-ish stacking plastic boxes from Wilko - we already have a couple - should do, as long as they’re not too full. ?anyway, wish me luck!
