I enjoyed Jamie's new programme but he didn't devein the prawns in his fish pie. Is it only me that found that horrible?

I’m afraid I don’t like prawns BigBertha1 so would have found it horrible anyway! I do like a good fish pie though.

Listening to the trailers I thought the programme was called, Jamie’s One pound Wonders. Turns out it’s One Pan Wonders with the emphasis that you only have one thing to wash up.

That’s if you ignore the chopping boards, knives, pestle and mortar and the very messy worktop! ?

Well ok, but didn't the food look great. Not that I could afford the huge leg of lamb.
I like Jamie's recipes.

Oh I missed it, he should of deveined the prawns though…..the book comes out sept 1st I think.

I don’t have a frying pan that goes in the oven…
Also, living on my own, those dishes would last me a fortnight! More cooking for ONE. I used to laughter at Delia’s “One is Fun”. Ha! But jolly useful now I’m widowed. ?

Prawns. Yuk.

Jamie's '5 ingredients' is my go to book when I need inspiration or when I cooking with the gchn. His recipes are very clear and we like the results!
I didn't see the programme last night but will catch up with it.
Deveining is something I would do to a prawn before I cooked it - he's usually quite particular about those details so I'm surprised that he didn't.

I have always like Jamie's programmes and have his books. I noticed the prawns and wasn't impressed. I watched Nigella 'At my Table' cook prawns in coconut she hadn't cleaned the veins out either. I also don't like when chefs or cooks leave stringy bits in eggs (connective tissue) it's disgusting.

Grandmattie I second your call for more programmes about cooking for one. Thank you for reminding me about Delia, I have her Oneis Fun somewhere, I must look it out.

It’s not necessary to devein them, so I suppose it’s an aesthetic thing. I like his books too and have a few, his Comfort food is well used here.
