I’ll give the Aldi tonic a go.
(Hip talk: I’ve just started going supermarket shopping for the first time in over two years, and it’s all very exciting! We’ve got a new local Aldi, too, to further add to the fun ?)

My go to is Fentimans. Is anyone else completely bewildered by the burgeoning array of gins on the market now? Why? What happened to just good unadulterated old fashioned gin? Yes I know, boring!

Greyduster I got a marvellous gin advent calendar from Amazon last year, which was less than half price and an absolute bargain.
Some of the flavours were absolutely gorgeous.
But I don’t think that I’d buy a whole bottle of the fancy pants ones.
I only buy cheap gin - never more than £20 a litre.
I’m more of a guzzler than a connoisseur!

Aldi gin is great for making sloe gin when you can get the sloes. If you use the big name brands it can be a rather costly exercise.

Does anyone use gin balloons? My daughter in law bought me some a few Christmas’s ago. You could swim in them!

Wasn’t sure what you meant greyduster so googled. Yes I have two sets and always use for my gin.

I suppose I should use them but have a tall cut crystal tumbler that I drink mine out of. You get used to certain glasses don’t you? Trouble is, apart from my DiL, who is not here very often, no-one I know drinks gin except me!

Use any glass you like grey duster, it makes little difference though I do like a nice glass too if you know what I mean. If I get a gin in a large wine glass I am not as pleased as if its in a nice long glass or a big balloon ?

Apparently Greyduster it’s very cheap (compared to say, whisky) to produce yet retails for a comparable price. I read an article about it last year and it was quite an eye opener.

Hence the gin distillers love the fact that it’s so popular and keep coming up with new flavours or just colours as in pink gin!

I couldn’t look at gin (or any spiritous alcohol for that matter) for a long long time after getting spectacularly legless on it one evening, to the extent that I had to spend three days in bed and then spent a week unable to stop crying because I was so utterly ashamed of myself. No-one else was involved in this bender, fortunately, just me! It started in a fit of rage and got totally out of control.
