vol au vents have been specially requested by visiting DS,
but because of my arthritic hands I cannot be making anything like this any more.

I’m sure we were able to buy these frozen? I have investigated, at Waitrose, Sainsbury, Coop, blank looks.
does anyone know where we can buy these frozen please?
Bring Back Vol au vents!!

I should add that the vol au vents served after her funeral were first class!

I got them in Tesco's last Christmas, give them a try. I love them sweet too with stewed apple and cream on top

I bought Christmas tree shaped vol au vents from Aldi last year. Sadly I never got round to using them. They’re still in the pantry!

I saw vol au vent cases in Aldi last week.

I've got some from Iceland in the freezer - but unsure if they'll still have them in stock now.

Me too! I have yearning for treats of yesteryear and these seem to be having a resurgence because I bought some frozen by jusroll .can’t remember which shop though🤷🏼‍♀️
Bring on the prawn cocktail and real Black Forest Gateau.
I recall Vol au vents filled with creamed mushrooms at dos’

A few years ago now I “concocted” a giant version with a luxurious fish pie type filling …messy but gorgeous 😋

You will all be relieved to know that we finally! bought JusRol VAV cases in Morrisons, 2 boxes @ 18 in each. I was so happy.
My DD was sure we used to buy Sainsbury’s own, frozen, no doubt discontinued as no one bought them.

I’m going shopping soon, buying mushrooms, going to treat myself
as no turkey left now, wondering how
many I can actually eat.

Has anyone else had difficulty finding
cornflour?
One supermarket had it availableonline, at a hugely inflated price, like most things now I suppose. The last box was from a Coop, its such a basic.

A few months ago I read somewhere (no can't remember sorry) that there was to be a shortage of cornflour so bought an extra packet, even though I only need it occasionally.

Re cornflour.
Is it the same as corn starch?
I know that talcum powder has been ‘banned’ and the safe alternative is made from cornstarch.
That could be the reason for the shortage
