My cupboards are still pretty well overstocked and as every year my resolve is not to do this again!
There’s little else I can freeze, but must eat or cook and freeze now.

Never thought of doing this with bought mince pies, so good to know it can be done with good results.👍🏻

I bought 2 packets mid December, froze them and defrosted for Christmas Eve, just put the whole packets in the freezer. No soggy cardboard, pies were fine.

As we cannot buy them over here in France, I have always put any that family of friends bring over in the freezer. They defrost perfectly with no loss of texture or taste with the added advantage of being able to just take out a couple at a time if needed. I have introduced my French friends to them and they love them, though they were a little confused that they didn't have any meat in them

D You can definitely freeze them. If they are in a card box, I would transfer them to a plastic one. The card will go soggy . Hi

This is what we do with loaves of bread, slices at a time directly from freezer as required.

Ours are in the freezer.
I take one or two out and give them 5 minutes in the air fryer.... lovely.

From experience*, shop mince pies last forever anyway.

*once found a couple lurking in a friend’s bread bin in (IIRC) May. Still edible!
