I've just cooked cheesy-breadcrumbed Basa, with sweet potatoes and oven-roasted Mediterranean vegetables. (It's a Gousto recipe I had ages ago) Gorgeous.

It was going to be baked potatoes with prawn cocktail and salad. Unfortunately the potatoes were very spotty and grey under the skin and they went in the bin.
Instead DH harvested the first of our home grown potatoes. They were lovely.

Dessert for guests tomorrow, very light and low calorie. Irish Coffee Meringue Gateau.

Wednesday dinner menu is still unplanned.

From the book Ballymaloe Desserts.

To me the words “low calorie”, “Irish Coffee” , “meringue” and “Gateau” do not belong in the same sentence! 🤣🤣

Others said it was fantastic! No eggs for us, others did enjoy! smile

Chicken stir fry again. Can't stand for too long, so I cut up all the veg and chicken in the morning, then bung it all in the pan at teatime.

I had jam on toast, I am beginning to wonder reading these posts that I should start making more of an effort

Sounds "just the ticket" to me!

Tonight we’ll be having plate beef mince pie (homemade by the local butcher) with veg, mashed potatoes and gravy. Maybe fruit to follow if we still feel hungry.

Yesterday we had battered sausage and chips from the chip shop in the next village. Delicious!

Dinner this eve was New England pot roast beef with vegetables and gravy. Yorkshire pudding turned out lovely, hadn’t made that in awhile and hubby was surprised!

Gooseberry pie made with gooseberries grown by DD's father in law.

Greyduster Mon 10-Jul-23 20:53:36

Vegetarian shepherds pie with tender stem broccoli, followed by strawberries and cream.

Redhead56 Mon 10-Jul-23 20:15:56

I made Polish stuffed cabbage leaves with steamed vegetables.

Callistemon21 Mon 10-Jul-23 17:02:59

Cauliflower cheese with a jacket potato.

If this match finishes soon, if not, a cheese sandwich!

rubysong Mon 10-Jul-23 17:00:33

These all sound delicious. I think we'll be having beans on toast as it was village hall luncheon club (me in the kitchen, DH a 'customer') so we both had a good meal at lunchtime.

grandMattie Mon 10-Jul-23 16:59:58

I’ve had such a long, hard day that I’m having baked beans, bacon and mushrooms. Disgraceful, I know, but they are nutritious!
