I've just cooked cheesy-breadcrumbed Basa, with sweet potatoes and oven-roasted Mediterranean vegetables. (It's a Gousto recipe I had ages ago) Gorgeous.

So hot today I made my own Coronation chicken and it was delicious. Did rice and big salad with it and hubby picked up some lovely onion bhajis and popadoms from Aldi. 5 of us for lunch and all clean plates. We had fresh local strawberries and cream for dessert and lemon cheesecake.

Definitely Norah. I just find it difficult to give things up in the first place … no will power!

Kate1949 Fri 16-Jun-23 19:03:43

Too hot to cook so a mozzarella burger (frozen), cooked in the air fryer, plonked on a bap with some salad.

I can’t imagine not eating fish, in some form, on Friday. Although Anglican my mother always cooked fish on Friday. My husband’s Catholic so fish on Friday is what he’s always been used to as well. Many different types of fish and ways to cook, never boring.

Mum usually cooked salmon on Fridays. My most missed "meat" as a vegan is salmon, makes Friday difficult. However, part of the point of giving things up is to face difficulties, right?

Or so I tell myself. smile

Here are a couple of photographs as we are now having tea and sharing a dessert ..

I am out tonight with my friend to a favourite restaurant of ours.
The menu changes fairly frequently and if it is back on tonight I shall be having duck breast with a lovely sauce of port, cherries and vanilla.
Sometimes it is orange with Grand Marnier , also good but if tonight’s offering is with their plum sauce I shall be choosing a fish dish.
A vegetable selection, followed by Affogato,.

margauxbordeaux Fri 16-Jun-23 09:58:08

Friday 16 / 06.

We shall be going out for Chinese for lunch at China Crown on Calle Don Ramón de La Cruz # 6 - The Madrid Capital.

This is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Madrid. Exemplary.

To post a couple of photographs after lunch.

Nice day wishes.
