What's for dinner today?

Whatever I fancy from the gastro pub menu.
It is ages since I ate out so really looking forward to it.
It is pouring down here so a quick dash to the front door.

I have a beef casserole in the oven, simmering away since 3pm. Beef, potatoes, celery, onions, carrots, bay leaves, mixed herbs, bit if red wine and vinegar and mustard and very soon I will be dropping in some dumplings. There will be clean plates all round.

Fish as always on Fridays.

Breakfast. We love breakfast for dinner, have none of ours coming round, breakfast is a delightful choice. Lots of waffles included.

Pub lunch - seabass, scallops and mint & pea risotto

A substantial minestrone, with grated cheese and some home made garlic bread I just found in the freezer - I had thought we’d eaten it all. 🙂

Pork schnitzel jersey royals and a huge mixed salad, family coming so also copious amounts of garlic bread, and of course wine.

Cawl tonight. It is just simmering in the slow cooker.

Faggots, mash, cabbage and carrots.

Cold roast lamb, jacket potato, salad

Cauliflower (roasted), white kidney bean, gorgeous dressing - fantastic main. Salad, a bread I don't make often, and apple bake.

Sausage, potato and cheese tray bake thing - if I get the sausages out of the freezer.

Roasted, halved, sweet potatoes - stuffed with cooked, spiced chick peas, sauteed mushrooms, great herb sauce. Plus salad, bread, leftover cake. Wine.

Bubble and squeak - from yesterdays big family meal - fried egg and sausages.

Too knackered to do much else.

We had that the other day - I’d cooked extra spuds on purpose - with bacon and fried eggs. 😋

Tonight will be baked cod, courgettes, aubergine and cherry tomatoes

A piece of gammon that was reduced in Waitrose yesterday. 🙂Baked, served with parsley sauce, Jersey Royals, and purple sprouting broccoli.

DS2 and family came today and I did a turkey crown from the freezer with stuffing, roast spuds cabbage and carrots, (veggie lasagne for DS2). Then a lemon & lime cheesecake for pud. There were also chocolate and shredded wheat nests with chicks and mini eggs, which were cut up for the little folks as we know they are a choking hazard.

The aforementioned salmon, on a bed of stir fried caulirice, garlic, tomatoes and rocket.

Cold roast lamb (yesterday's leftovers), salad and cashew nuts with baby boiled potatoes.

Frozen, homemade beef stroganoff, rice and peas. We scatter the beef with sliced mini gherkins.

Salmon and whatever I can rustle up with it - fridge is a bit empty!
