I hope I am committing a sin by starting a new thread but the other one is full and I enjoy it and the photos smile

I popped to the cheap farm shop on the way home from work to buy dog food and vegetables so I have made a sausage casserole with jacket potatoes. I normally put the potatoes in the casserole (I know wink ) but there was no room as I bought a rather nice leek grin it smells delicious smile

We are paying homage to my husband’s Scottish ancestry (I have a little too) with steak pie, tatties and neeps.

1st: A cheese Fondue (Gruyère with Cherry Kirch Brandy. )
2nd: Filet Mignon ..
3rd: Dark Chocolate - with fresh season fruits placed on skewers and a simple sponge ..

Chicken and vegetable curry.

I’ve got a venison casserole bubbling in the slow cooker. We’ll have it with dumplings and some sprouts (got to use them up some how 😁).
Rhubarb and plum crumble to follow.
DH cottage pie last night was very good. There’s enough for another day, so it’s gone in the freezer.

Tonight roast chicken, roast parsnips, mashed potatoes, carrots, brussel sprouts and gravy.

henetha Fri 29-Dec-23 23:19:54

Two rashers of bacon and one fried egg. That's all I felt like eating

TerriBull Fri 29-Dec-23 19:18:25

Friday fish night! spicy salmon, new potatoes roasted with sea salt and rosemary, green beans and broccoli

Ziplok Fri 29-Dec-23 16:29:15

DH has been in charge of tonight’s dinner - I said I was having a day off. Anyway, he’s made a cottage pie which we will reheat later. There were some delicious smells coming from the kitchen.

Macaroni cheese, courtesy of Morrisons. Easier than making a portion for myself.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 29-Dec-23 12:25:50

Cold meats, jacket potatoes and salad.

Salti Fri 29-Dec-23 11:18:11

Last night fillets of sole, potatoes dauphinoise, carrots and peas.

Tonight I'm making salmon risotto with a good handful of frozen peas and sweetcorn thrown in.

Simple for me, fresh tomatoes , cooked, toast and scrambled eggs.

Ziplok Thu 28-Dec-23 20:14:15

Omelette with herbs and chips tonight. Really couldn’t be bothered to do anything else.

Baggs Thu 28-Dec-23 19:13:16

PS There were small amounts of leftover carrots and neeps in it too. Oh, and a bit of beluga lentil dal – freezer scrapings so to speak.

Braised steak and onions into which I threw some spices – from memory: cumin, ginger, turmeric, ground coriander, paprika – and a stock cube.

We ate it with frozen (well, warm, actually) peas.

It was really good.

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 28-Dec-23 18:49:16

Tray bake thing - chicken, chunks of red, green and yellow pepper, onion, tomatoes, and aubergine. All mixed with Paprika, Oregano, Basil and olive oil.

cornergran Thu 28-Dec-23 17:46:37

Omelette with bacon, mushrooms and cheese accompanied by side salad and chips. Nothing complex here smile.

Callistemon21 Thu 28-Dec-23 15:41:26

Well, we're having common or garden sausage and mash, along with previously prepared and frozen red cabbage.

It was going to be something more complicated but none of us feel like spending a long time in the kitchen!

MrsKen33 Thu 28-Dec-23 15:27:04

Turkey fricassee today with rice.

Witzend Thu 28-Dec-23 15:26:17

Roast pork with roast potatoes, cauliflower/broccoli cheese, sprouts, stuffing (leftover from Christmas), proper gravy, and then we’ll start on the 2nd Christmas pud, with the 2nd lot of brandy butter, which I’ve still got to make. 😋
