This evening we shall step out for tapas on our corner bar´s sidewalk terrace.

Thursday - 11th of July ..

Since we had a lovely Greek lunch out, tonight we shall just have a simple cool fruit salad served with a few cheeses and cracker breads.

Home made Tortilla Española = Spanish potato omelette with a simple salad of tri color lettuces and red ripe tomatoes and a home made Vinaigrette ..

Served with bakery baguette toasted in oven with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkled with salt.

A glass of Rosé from Navarra - 100% Garnacha Grape.

Briam. A Greek vegetable stew. Layered potato, spring greens, carrots, aubergine, sweet potato and courgette. Seasoned at each layer with (Greek) oregano, salt and pepper. A large splash of passate and baked slowly in a lidded cast iron pot.

We had breakfast for dinner today And that was after having breakfast for breakfast

Salmon baked in butter, lemon juice and parsley, new potatoes and steamed vegetables with a parsley and lemon sauce.

Lemon tart (thanks, Waitrose).

A stir fry with lots of veg and bits of leftover roast chicken out of the freezer, marinated in soy sauce. Sachet of oyster and spring onion sauce, fresh garlic, ginger and red chilli pastes, lemon juice, egg noodles.

Last night we had a birthday celebration meal for my son with family members, I made Jambalaya and a favourite chocolate cake and ice cream for pudding.

Tonight is just us, and it's Friday so that means fish, which my husband likes to precede that with "catholic fish Friday", old habits die hard. We'll be eating M&S lightly dusted haddock, mashed potatoes, leeks, green beans and peas. We can't finish the chocolate cake, I've promised to save some for my grandson when they come for Sunday roast. Sadly my granddaughter won't be able to eat any, she's gluten intolerant but she's usually happy with strawberries, meringue and ice cream.

Vietnamese fish hot pot (co Kho tu) with sticky rice and greens

Cottage pie (lentils added) broccoli and mange tout.

Dinner tonight, Friday the 3rd of May shall be Pizza Margherita at our fave Pizzeria, The Fratelli Brothers with dear friends of many years.

Spinach and ricotta tortellini* from the supermarket, with homemade spicy tomato sauce and salad.

Since we had a seafood Paella for lunch; dinner shall be on light side.

A Caprese Salad with mozzarella di bufala with fresh tomato. And a variety of cracker breads ..

A nice glass of Rosado wine from Navarra - 100% garnacha grape and quite light ..

A favourite of dh - Thai style egg fried rice (with half a pack of small prawns) and lots of stir fried veg on the side.

Beef and basil meatballs in an onion, garlic and tomato sauce over fresh tagliatelle with parmesan cheese.
