Hello, community! I've been using wax paper for wrapping sandwiches and storing baked goods, but I've noticed a strange residue left on the food. It's not a pleasant experience, and I'm concerned about the safety of consuming this residue. Has anyone else faced a similar issue? Could it be the type or brand of wax paper I'm using, or is there a specific way to handle or store food with wax paper to avoid this problem? Your insights and advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've noticed an unusual residue left on my food when using wax paper. Can anyone help me understand why this is happening and how to prevent it?

Apparently food grade waxed paper should be used on cold food only, I use greaseproof paper. Not sure why yours is leaving a residue . Do you mean bees wax wrappers ? I have some but they seem to have a lot of wax on them so they remain unused.

The residue issue with wax paper might be due to the type or brand you're using. Some wax papers have additives that can transfer to food. To prevent this, try switching brands or using parchment paper as an alternative.

Odd that the OP has answered his own question with an answer as though he is just another poster!

Lots of newbies at the moment…….

I think ‘a recommendation’ might be on its way?

If only a new poster could pop up in the next hour and recommend a brand 🙄

So why did you pose a question then post the answer?

Because JJ is coming back to name an alternative product!

I think the OP was replying to Oopsadaisys comment re bees wax wrappers, to be fair.
