Worrying to say the least!

Fake virgin oil is now commonplace.

This is terrific rapeseed oil. Not organic, but LEAF & cold pressed. If you live locally, lots of shope stock it, otherwise there's a list of stockists:

In November 2023 the European Commission allowed glyphosate use for another 10 years.

I like to buy UK products but there doesn't seem to be organic and cold pressed. Don't forget farmers use glyphosate in the UK and rapeseed will have been sprayed. Also, if it is not cold pressed it will have been heated and therefore most of the nutrients destroyed.

Oh, dam! I've forgotten to provide a link so everyone can buy my products. So here it is :www.marydroll.eu.

olive and rapeseed oils are very good for health. You can get cold pressed in any of the big supermarkets. The other seed oils are used to stretch those two oils to make them cheaper.

Seed oils are bad on the whole, however I sometimes need sunflower oil and have just recaived cold pressed sunflower oil from my supplier, healthy supplies. Mr organic organic cold pressed

Good makes are clearspring, biona and mr organic

Allex50 Sat 30-Mar-24 09:00:27

Absolutely!

You must have very exquisite tastebuds is all I can say.

I think so MD

You have to give them full marks for trying.
Never underestimate a Gransnetter? 🤣

Have you tried Biona? - just been to look and that's what I bought last time. Like the Clearspring (mentioned above) it's also cold pressed and organic. Again, widely available.

I don't use sunflower oil. Just rape and olive.

Allex50 Sat 30-Mar-24 08:01:48

Yeh, I add-ed it in case anyone interested!

So it is an add?

Allex50 Sat 30-Mar-24 07:15:18

Interesting responses, thanks. Tried all the supermarket ones. I did omit to add that I was also looking for a cold pressed type as that retains the nutrients. Otherwise the oil (even organic) will have been heat treated thus virtually useless except for cooking and frying. I use Rapeseed because that has a better omega 6/3 ratio whereas Olive oil doesn't (https://www.healthyfood.com/healthy-shopping/which-is-healthier-olive-oil-or-canola-rapeseed-oil/).

I only use olive oil. Keeps the blood pressure down as an added bonus!

NotSpaghetti Fri 29-Mar-24 22:50:50

Clearspring does an organic rapeseed oil. Available all over it seems

Callistemon21 Fri 29-Mar-24 22:23:17

Tesco, Waitrose and Lidl do organic cold-pressed oils.

I am sure other supermarkets and farm shops do too.

charley68 Fri 29-Mar-24 22:07:57

I buy rapeseed oil from Morrison's; this is my nearest supermarket.
The brand I buy is Borderfield EV cold pressed rapeseed oil.
I alternate with EV olive oil.

Do I sense an ad coming on?

However I'd say, if you are genuine, try Google or the better type of food shop/deli.

I'm looking for supply of rapeseed and Sunflower oils. i have seen Just Natural and a couple of Italian suppliers but not outstanding Trustpilot reviews. Anyone buy these oils and where from? Thanks.
