Well, that was good.
Husband came home at 2pm! Reheated everything and added remaining stock to the sauce, served it forth and he enjoyed it. He's put the remainder in a bowl for later.
Thank you all for the advice but in the end I didn't need it.

Could you add more of the veg/chicken/water you are using, as if you are doubling the recipe? Freeze the extra for another time.

Sorry - as so often - late to the party! Enjoy!

Hve you got enought of the sauce ingredients to re-do the sauce? If so, I would scoop out most of the sauce, set aside and re-make, so you only have a bit of the taste of the mushroom ketchup (one of my favourite ingredients!). Then strain the left-over sauce and divide up to freeze. You can then add it to other sauces or soups. My freezer is full of bits like this!
I you haven't, can you at least make some sort of white / cream sauce and do the same?

Good idea keepingquiet. Well, it's all ready to eat but no husband.
I won't be long he said when he went out to collect our new car. That was 2 hours ago. We usually eat at about 12:30.
I've tasted the casserole again, added a bit more chicken stock and it is quite tasty. I don't think I've ruined it.

Add a little wine and drink the rest- works for me!

Could you add potatoes instead of doing Jersey Royals.

MiniMoon Thu 30-May-24 12:30:47

We are having jersey royals and cabbage with it. If I put potatoes in we'll be over carbed grin

Maybe adding potatoes. That helps with strong curry.

I'm making a stove top chicken and mushroom casserole sort of thing. I tasted it and decided something was lacking. Went to the fridge and got the bottle of mushroom ketchup thinking I would add a few drops. I removed the cap, shook the bottle, the inner plastic dropper thing flew off and into the pan with almost all of what was left in the bottle.
I've added more milk but it still tastes rather strong. For those of you who don't know mushroom ketchup, it's a bit like Worcestershire sauce.
Any ideas as to how I can improve it would be appreciated.
