We often buy prepackaged smoked salmon from the supermarket as a lunch treat, usually 150g with an e after the amount. For the last few months I’ve been weighing it and the amount of fish is consistently around 140g. Surely if ‘e’ means estimated and indicates the average weight, then by the law of averages at least one packet should have been slightly more than 150g? Never had one yet.
Realise my obsessive weighing probably makes me a very sad person, but any explanation would be very helpful!
Should the NHS charge for such things?
