It was supposed to be yellow lentil dal, but…

…it turned into soup! After a (too) quick shufti at the recipe, and frying the onions with cumin seeds, I just chucked it all in, spices, garlic, stock cubes - and too much water!
But it actually made a really nice soup - with some cauliflower added at the end, and naan bread.
Plenty left over, even after dh’s 2 helpings - I’ve just had some for lunch. 🙂

My friend was telling me this morning that they had Tex-Mex made at home last night. She rubbed the spicy chicken seasoning that she normally uses all over the chicken skin ready to roast it and only then realised she had rubbed curry powder all over it.

The jars had the wrong tops on and both are reddish brown spicy powder - the smell is obviously different.

So they had tacos with guacamole, beef fajitas, charro beans and very hot curried chicken quesadillas grin

Witzend, that sounds delicious! Sadly, if you are anything like me, the throw them together, can't remember the quantities dishes are the best, but difficult to repeat!
