Spanish Gold. It came in waxy paper red, designed to look like tobacco wrap.
It was shredded coconut, covered in not sure what but it was absolutely divine!

Chatting to my sister she remarked that when buying some sweets for her GChildren, she noticed that an old favourite of ours, a Curly Wurly seems to have shrunk in length. I laughed and said it was likely because we had actually grown taller! It reminded me of my absolute favourites from childhood, Spangles! This was closely followed by sherbet pips. If I spent my hard earned pocket money on these I could make them last forever by sucking them one at a time. Any other grans (or grandads) have any old favourites?
