As many of us are, at this moment, pumping in the caffeine, or decaff, may I recommend this new brand of coffee capsules I have ordered.

I usually buy Nespresso pods, but they are expensive and not compostable. These Grind ones are home compostable and, when empty, go in my waste caddy along with banana skins etc. Apparently they will break down and disappear as quickly as grass cuttings!

This is presumably advertising, and should be reported, but I tried another brand of "compostable" coffee pods and they didn't work very well in my machine. The L'Or ones have a free return/recycle scheme and work well, so I'm sticking with them!

Wow! I'm that good I should get a job in advertising! 😂
These pods fit fine in my Nespresso machine.
The Mocha flavour is delicious with warm milk.

My only problem is the dog chewed an empty one, and because they are plant based, he now has a liking for them!

I don’t have a coffee machine escaped I don’t drink enough to warrant the space for one on the counter in our tiny kitchen ‘area’ (contemporary living eh! tiny) but our youngest daughter and her husband love their Nespresso so I’ve shared your recommendation with them this morning. Thank you! Sounds great.

To be fair, escaped, it does look like advertising. 😉 You photo looked professional!
I wasn't quite sure, as I didn't recognise your user name.
In the poster's defense, the recent influx of spam posts has made everyone very wary.

I'm sure coffee lovers may be interested, but I hate coffee and anything coffee flavoured. I wish I did like it!!

I suppose we are all ‘guilty’ of recommending stuff these days! Years ago posters mentioned ordering stuff from the big river company (Amazon) or going to the yellow and blue shopping store (IKEA). Now? We happily swap tales of which air fryers are best, what mattress toppers etc! 😁

I have a Nespresso machine and use their recycling scheme for the pods.

I'm willing to give these a try though!

I recently stayed in a hotel which had a Nespresso machine in the room.
There was a selection of 3 different pods, more available on request, however I found the coffee far too strong for me.
I am obviously not a coffee expert.
I have a Bosch Tassimo which I love, the pods are Costa and Kenco.
Probably downmarket from Nespresso but suits me.
I don’t think the pods recommended by OP would fit my machine.

Unfortunately, I’m not a coffee connoisseur- instant coffee, for a morning boost

Georgesgran Tue 29-Oct-24 09:31:45

I’m weird and only drink coffee when I’m out!

Aveline Tue 29-Oct-24 09:38:13

I don't like these machines. The coffee is too strong for me. I like my cafetiere at home with the coffee of my choice in my favourite strength. DH has his own cafetiere as he prefers a much stronger blend of coffee. Each to their own of course.

I can't drink more than one cup of coffee a day, if that, so it's not worth getting a machine. I don't really like coffee much any more, strangely. Not sure why I've gone off it.

Allira Tue 29-Oct-24 10:13:56

Sorry, escaped, it has to be tea 😁
Especially first thing in the morning!

I'll mention them to DS though, or buy him some, as they are compostable.

Norah Tue 29-Oct-24 10:50:08

I drink coffee all day long. No pods, grind beans, tasty.

Allira Tue 29-Oct-24 22:24:52

It smells so lovely even though I don't drink much now.

I remember a shop selling coffee in Brighton which I used to walk past when I was a child; they would grind the beans and sell the coffee in paper bags.

We have a capsule machine as well as a coffee machine that uses ground coffee beans. Guess what ? We are usually too lazy to use the big machine and might as well just have the capsule one. They don’t taste quite as good but it is pretty close.
