I always thought salty liquorice was Swedish.
Family and friends there all like it and have brought it over from there.
Not a fan, personally.

We lived in Northern Australia when the DC were of school age, and the school tuck shop used to sell salty plums - my DD adored them; never been able to find the same thing anywhere else. Any that she's found don't taste right.

We had that drink in Lebanon, they put a big jug of it with glasses on the table when you order food. I love it but then as is proved by my original post I do like 'salty'.
Is very refreshing.

I absolutely love ayran, which is a salted yogurt drink you get in Turkey. It is an acquired taste though - a lot of people hate it, especially if they've bought it by accident, mistaking it for milk.

Are there any foods/products you like that are an odd combo of flavours, for me is salted licorice, not easy to buy in the UK, we tend to stock up if in the Netherlands or Germany, or ask friends visiting these places if they could bring a bag back.
I say 'we' but my OH hates it, he tried one piece then spat it out, most of my grown family did the same except for one SiL who gave it a go.
