I have refrozen it. It was only 200 grams of fillet tail which I would have used along with a similar one to nake beef stroganoff.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to do that at the moment - it wasn't part of my meal planning this weekend.

Cook it immediately and refreeze it as cooked meat.

I defreeze and refreeze constantly. However, this is usually when I take something out of the freezer defrost itslightly to take half the pack, od get one chicken piece out and then immediately return to the freezer.

If it has defrosted and had been in the fridge for upto three days, I would just cook it - and possible refreeze as a nice casserole or stew.

I think you should have a treat lunch. Always think fillet tail is one of the best treats

Yes you can re-freeze it. Or if in doubt, cook it, let it cool and then freeze it

If it’s defrosted whilst still in its original packaging then I would refreeze it.

I agree with Petra (I'm a retired microbiologist).

That was my thinking petra. It was defrosted in the larder cupboard which has 2 outside walls so is possibly colder than the fridge currently!

There is not enough to make it worthwhile, CalendarGirl.

You can defrost it as many times as you want.

If it defrosted in the fridge then yes you can.

I would cook it.

No, I wouldn’t refreeze it.

I thawed a frozen piece of fillet tail by mistake. Can I refreeze it?
