Facebook pops up with various recipes on a daily basis.

Browsing one today, (looks delicious) but oh, so unhealthy.

Ingredients are digestive biscuits, condensed milk (so full of sugar), salted butter, milk chocolate and 8shock yes 8, Crunchie bars.

It’s no bake, ready in 10 minutes, but goodness, not for regular consumption.

I just look at these recipes, don’t actually make them.

I’m wishing I hadn’t read your post Calendargirl!!

Sounds good though.
Just a variation on the traditional Tiffin.
Many folks will have made such a cake with young kids

Yes, a variation on Tiffin, and small squares meant to be eaten with a cuppa. No way could anyone eat a Vic sponge type wedge of it!

Oh but you could give it a go Charley!

Sounds absolutely delicious, can't help but be tempted but now trying to forget about it!

It sounds really delicious and very very sweet, I love condensed milk, it's also good to add to cream to make ice cream.

Yuck yuck yuck!!! Just buy a cake!

Yes I do this often - a tin of condensed milk, a pint of whipping cream and whatever flavourings you want. Beat with a mixer for about four minutes and then freeze. No need to churn while freezing. Very rich, so small portions! I swirl through things like lemon curd, ginger preserves or caramel sauce, or add 3tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder to the original mix for chocolate, or just use vanilla essence.

I use condensed milk to make easy microwave fudge. So simple - just the condensed milk and chocolate, then you can add any other flavourings or whatever you like to it. I usually do it at xmas and pop it into pretty little cellophane bags to give out to friends and family.

Everything sounds delicious.
I never used to enjoy sweet foods, but oh boy, that's changed!

Ah, the everlasting temptation of "saving time". I prefer 6 of flour, 4 of fat, 4 of sugar, 1 egg, bit of milk to make desired consistency, whichever flavouring I fancy at the time. Sling in the oven for 30 mins, cool off, enjoy. The resulting treat is sweet, home-made from scratch and doesn't make you vomit or suffer a sugar-surge from hell.

I hope no one’s daft enough to try that recipe, if I did I would eat the lot.
One thing i do sometimes is make a double skin rice pudding with evaporated milk, big nob of butter on the top and grated nutmeg, cooked a long time.
I’m going to try that ice cream but I can’t see me having it in the freezer long.
I do Tiffin but no condensed milk in it so practically a health food.

@Calendargirl

I’m getting very frustrated with the number of so called ‘recipes’ I keep being sent.
The people obviously cannot cook. They mix a load of gunge together and call it baking.
Then there’s the inane chatter while they do it with someone else there ooohing and aaahing over the abhorrent concoction.

And don’t get me started on their inability to use a spatula!

Goodness! I think I need to lie down in a darkened room now!

If you look really hard you might find the milk contains calcium!! An absolute necessity to our daily diet lol

I'm not a fan of crumb bases .
If I do make one I add ginger nut biscuits to digestives .
Next time I have to make a dessert I'll experiment with shortbread biscuits as a crumb base .
Notice I've written have to - it reflects my lack of enthusiasm !
