Looks as if a research trip to Hawes is required!

I love Wensleydale cheese, particularly their Christmas cheeses. Could yours have been this one?
Mince Pie Yorkshire Wensleydale
Creamy, crumbly and full of flavour Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese with Mixed Fruit, Biscuit crumble, Cognac & Spices. The perfect festive cheese treat!

Definitely no cinnamon and pretty sure nuts in there too

Thanks for your comments. I don’t think this can have been expensive or a special edition (unless the caterer had it left over from Christmas). Mostly standard fare for our area ….. but I did note a couple of figs thrown in!

It sounds like the Wensleydale creamery winter warmer, it’s usually only produced for the Christmas market.

Could it have been Wensleydale with pumpkin spice?

NonGrannyMoll Sun 02-Feb-25 14:05:55

Could be a limited edition fruit-cake flavour cheese for Christmas, so it isn't on permanent sale?

I’m addicted to all cheese.

Google can’t help so I’m hoping for enlightenment here!
I attended a gathering recently - nothing grand with a simple but good buffet.
There was a fairly standard cheeseboard but it included one of the most delicious cheeses I’ve ever tasted.
I asked the pub landlady what it was and she thought it was some kind of spiced fruit Wensleydale. I’m familiar with the cranberry/apricot version of course but this was in a different league. I brought some home (by invitation!) and have tried a deconstruction (although it was already pretty crumbly).
Base colour is white but the taste has a hint of a blue cheese. Within are pieces of nut, raisins, maybe ginger. I see there’s a mango option out there but can’t detect any,
Any offers? This one is addictive!
