We rarely have one, but it’s gone so perishing cold, I’m going to treat me and dh to an Eve’s Pudding tonight - nice and easy. 😋

Everyday can be a pudding day JaneJudge!
It just a state of mind..
So many puds, so little time. ☺

It's certainly not trifle or pavlova weather!
Enjoy your pudding.

Pulled lots of rhubarb this morning. Nice hot stewed rhubarb, well sweetened, served with lunch.

How about a crumble?

Our rhubarb has been very slow this year, although I think there might just about be enough ready this weekend for a crumble!

How about home made rice pudding with raisins and nutmeg or queen of puddings?

Moonwatcher1904 Mon 05-May-25 18:01:41

There's nothing wrong with a pudding anytime of the year. If it's got custard on it all the better. My DH loves my rice pudding which is so easy to make and we can have that anytime too. Crack on Witzend and enjoy. x

It’s always pudding weather in my house.

DH and I often have a pudding for our evening meal. Our main meal is at lunchtime so a pudding for supper is lovely.
This afternoon I lit our log burner.

We had blackberry and apple crumble yesterday because I am running my freezer down and wanted to get rid of the last of the blackberries I’d picked at the end of last summer. It was very comforting. The way this year is whizzing by, we’ll soon be picking the next lot!

I should not have read this thread.

It inspired me to make a bread and butter pudding with raisins.
A moment on the lips ......

Always fancied a baked Alaska- I like a challenge😋 but for now a plate sized jam tart with lashings of warm custard would do the trick

My daughter made a stew some weeks ago and used proper suet to make dumplings. She told me off for using packet mix to make mine and gave me her recipe. I bought a packet of suet and yes they were delicious. I now have found an easy recipe to make jam roly-poly to use some of the suet I have left. We will be having that at weekend come rain or shine.

No challenge in Baked Alaska, just use the ice cream straight from the freezer and have the oven very hot when you put the merangue covered cake and ice cream in the oven.

My mother used to consider it one of her 'cheat' recipes when entertaining. really easy to do, but really impressing people when she took it to the table.
