I just have to have a fish finger sandwich before I go off to work for 7pm tonight.Have been thinking about it for a while and debating as to ketchup or mayo on it.Slurp!šŸ˜‹
Is there sometimes a drink or foodstuff that you feel you need rather than just vaguely fancying? And absolutely must have🤭

Toasted sourdough, with melting butter and cherry jam! Very very naughty and moreish and rarely eaten now!

I also love mayonnaise made with avocado oil.

Ferry, have you tried marmite crisps?

I spotted these in Sainsburys the other day, there are also Marmite rice cakes. I must refrain at the moment as I am dieting quite successfully and don’t want to spoil it.

Coffee, my number 1 addiction.
After that, the only thing I’ve been driven to go to the shops for specially is a mint Aero. I don’t even like mint much, but about twice a year I get a mint Aero craving.

Oreo

What’s the recipe Witzend ?

Oven on at 180, 160 fan.
Line a large baking tray with paper

3 Oz (75g) each SR flour, oats, sugar, butter
I tbsp each Golden Syrup and milk

Melt the butter in a pan with the GS and milk
Mix the flour, oats and sugar in a large bowl.
Mix the melted mixture well in.
It’s not in the recipe but I add the zest of a lemon

With wet hands, form mixture into 10 or 12 balls,
place very well apart on the baking tray (they spread!) and flatten.
Bake for about 10 minutes. They will still be softish when you take them out, but will harden on cooling - best moved to a wire rack once cool enough.

Dh and I find them lethally moreish!

The chocolate muffins from our local shop, dark rich chocolate cake topped with fudgy chocolate delicious loveliness. It's a struggle getting past the shop without going in to buy one, I must try harder winksmile

Marmite and honey sandwich for me.

Usedtobeblonde Fri 27-Jun-25 18:43:08

A bag of very crunchy crisps, ready salted flavour.
Kettle or Pipers or similar.

Banana sandwich with butter on fresh bread.
Or just a banana.

Patsy70 Fri 27-Jun-25 18:33:20

If it’s a fish finger sandwich, I have to add mayo (love it!). Also a huge fan of Marmite and peanut butter, the smooth variety. A jacket potato, cooked in the air fryer, with sardines & salad is so very good.

Ferry 23 - Marmite is fabulous but Vegimite is even better. It is really hard to find so I stock up when I see it. I always have an extra spoonful after spreading it on toast.

Marmite anything!

Local farm shop does marmite and cheese sausages and sausage rolls. I barely make it back to the car park if I get a sausage roll.

I always buy at least 3 tubs of twiglets at Christmas. Best if I try and buy them on Christmas Eve though. When my Mum & Dad were alive I used to get my Mum to hide them somewhere so I couldn't get to them.

For Marmite fans, we had some of the cheese and Marmite sausage rolls from M&S yesterday and everyone loved them - even those who normally don't like Marmite.

Marmite.

It's travelled the world with me.

Is it the same jar?😁

Lol.

Anything longer than three weeks away and I take 2. grin

Fishfinger and salad wraps are good too.

Sometimes with lemon mayo.

Marmite for me too.

My husband bakes wonderful bread. Today I have had it toasted, a boiled egg sandwich and a banana sandwich. I really need to stop eating it.

Absolutely love fishfinger sandwiches my favourite!

This afternoon I was craving ā€˜something nice’. We so rarely have cakes or biscuits in the house (we’d only eat them!) - so I made some oat biscuits* which are so quick and easy to make, and need just 10 minutes in the oven.

I’ve already scoffed 4. 🐷!
*IMO the recipe is vastly improved by the zest of a lemon

Salad cream for me too. Preferably on a crunchy cheese and cucumber sandwich.

I craved a sandwich on cucumber and salad cream. Not mayonnaise. I had to buy salad cream specially and it was delicious.
