I would have taken the doughnut. Not keen on tinned soup so keep home made soup in the freezer.

I love cream of tomato soup with grated cheese on top and a hunk of crusty white bread

I do make my own soup when I have a chicken carcass or have made a beef stew with extra vegetables, but a tin or two in the cupboard is ideal when a quick, warming lunch is required.

Oreo

I would have bought and eaten both.😃

Me too, though actually I’d rather have a jam and cream scone.

You could buy a can of chopped tomatoes (no added sugar) cut up an onion and make your own tom soup.

I made onion soup tonight, with a floaty melted cheese toast on top. delicious and healthy.

I have cream of tomato soup (has to be Heinz) for a treat every now and then. It has abou 9.5 g sugar per half can.
My home made (Pinch of Yum recipe) tomato soup doesn’t have any less sugar, though I don’t actually add sugar.

The doughnut, but no cream thanks - just the jam. (Yes, I know I’m weird…)

Ps what a great excuse to have a jam and cream doughnut.

Tinned tomato soup is one of the worst for high sugar content. You need to scrutinise the labels. Vegetable, mushroom, and minestrone seem to be ok plus I usually water the minestrone down which lowers the sugar rate. I always make my own when we have a chicken and freeze some of it.

I think tinned tomato soup is very high in sugar! Maybe other tinned soup would be less

Making your own soup is very easy and you don’t add sugar or other c..p to it. Healthy and cheaper option.

My soup cupboard is bare. I am disappointed by the lack of variety these days but decided to get a tin of healthy tomato soup for my lunch, while sorely tempted by the jam and cream doughnuts I passed (in Aldi).

However, when I spotted that the total sugar (natural occuring and added) in half a can of the tomato soup was more than that in one of the doughnuts, my resolve crumbled. Afraid to say, it was the doughnuts which came home with me!
