Shortbread

I know homemade shortbread is best but can anyone recommend a make which is as good as homemade? I’ve just come back from Scotland and bought some homemade in a cake shop and also bought some with seaweed in it which we aren’t tried yet. Some we tried was quite good but not available here and some was not very good at all. I’m just longing for comfort food at the moment

Deans of Huntly is my favourite. They started as a family firm and have grown, but their shortbread is lovely IMO. You could try and see if they sell online.

I remember reading somewhere that Aldi's Belmont brand of shortbread is excellent. I've just looked up the ingredients and it is:

• Wheat Flour (Fortified with Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, and Thiamin)
• Butter (Milk)
• Sugar
• Cornflour
• Salt

Sounds good to me!
