I usually buy potatoes loose from greengrocers or farm shop, keep them in the paper bag and store in a cupboard.
This week I needed extra so bought a bag from M&S. I was surprised to see that the storage instructions were to refrigerate them. I have never done this.
How do you all store your spuds?

Both, but storing in fridge slows up the eyes sprouting.

I always thought that putting potatoes in the fridge gave them a gritty texture.

I keep them in a paper bag in a dark cupboard. I usually put an apple with them which is said to stop sprouting.

I have begun to keep them in the fridge. As I eat so few of them these days, I find they keep better. It doesn’t seem to affect the texture.

I would never put potatoes in the fridge. I just brush, break or cut any sprouts of the potatoes before I cook them.

Putting potatoes in the fridge increases the sugar content.

I put my bag of baby potatoes in the fridge as I am really the only one who eats them. If I store them elsewhere some go off before I can eat them. To be honest haven't noticed any difference in taste.

New potatoes in the fridge, always. They keep better there.
Old ones, hardly ever, though when it’s very hot they’d probably prefer the fridge, too. When we lived in a very hot climate, all veg, inc. potatoes and onions, had to be kept in the fridge or they’d rot and g o slimy very quickly.
But we did have a very big fridge - it was a necessity.
