Carrying on ....

I’m partial to a glass of gin
As long as there’s nothing else in
Or tumbler of rum
Sits well in my tum

Now happiness is a blessing
Sit down, relax and no stressing
Just lie back and sigh
None so happy as I

Vanilla and strawberry too
Of mint choc chip I’ve had a few
Now I sip my Pimms
Indulging my whims
And I’m happy all the day through

Now happiness is a blessing

Thank goodness the summer has cooled
But today it`s hot, I`ve been fooled
Outside in the sun
We`ve had lots of fun
Over lots of ice cream I've drooled.

But this year the phone’s been a boom
Now I’m hoping I’ll see friends soon
Better, face to face
In a meeting place
Without needing masks in a room!

Thank goodness the summer has cooled

I don`t think my free calls will count
I`ve used way over that amount
But chatting is fun
The bill costs a ton
Of cash I wish I had a fount

But this year the phone`s been a boon

Cell phones are now with us to stay
I never thought I`d see the day
I`d speak face to face
With Jack, who`s in space
But think of the bill I must pay!

You can’t go wrong with a kipper
Ate them since I was a nipper
The bones are a pest
A bit like the rest
I think I'll go chew on a slipper.
