Love them. Raw and deep fried in tempura batter. And we ‘harvest’ our own.

What is your happiest memory?

Happiest memories are Christmasses long ago when my parents and husband were alive, children were small, money was tight, but we had some wonderful times.

Are you nervous of getting out and about now that restrictions are lifting

Not at all as I will continue to use mask and socially distance when out and wash hands as soon as I get in

Did you have a red tin post box money box as a child?

No. I had a Robinsons Groats tin with a slit in the lid, made by my mother. I collected silver threepenny bits in it.

No.

Do you use a teabag more than once?

I was going to say a horrified 'No!'
but I've remembered that I do when making tea for my dad as he likes his tea ridiculously weak; so I show his cup the tea bag and then make mine with the same bag

What's your tipple and snack of choice?

Ice cold orange and lemonade to drink, and I think I'll have a vegetarian ploughman's with fresh crusty bread. That should all go down nicely thank you.

I dont use sugar or sweeteners.

Yes anything and everything.

I can only do basic stuff. I would rather sew.

If you are retired do you miss your job ?

I'm off sick long term, and I'm going to have to take early retirement or something or other soon. Yes, I do miss my job (teaching)

Lundy Island

If you either had to live in a permanently hot climate or permanently cold which would you choose? Mine would definitely be cold

Cold for me especially if it was one of those places which also get a lot of clear skies. You can always put more clothes in the cold but little you can do if it’s hot and I loathe air con.

Is there any part of housework that you actually like?

No, just hate it, am not domesticated at all, but when I used to iron for the family, didn’t mind that too much.
