No rain for weeks and weeks and now, well we’re having deluges. I ventured to the Garden Centre and had to step carefully through a lagoon to get in the entrance! ☔️

Just blown along the sea front at Exmouth and succumbed to a delicious, if expensive, confectionary at the new Michael Caines Patisserie/Glacerie (try saying that in a hurry. I feel exonerated as I did 5,950 steps. ?

Out shopping this morning I treated myself to new pyjamas.
The bottoms would fit a giraffe.

Multitasking this morning. Breadmaking downstairs in the kitchen, stripping wallpaper and painting wall in an alcove in boxroom upstairs. Up and down stairs like a yoyo. Bread great, paint not dry yet so looks streaky. Legs complaining.

Well, I should have gone for my daily walk this morning. Just got soaked and had to contend with weaving in and out of the usual lines of cars juggling for parking spots within half a mile in every direction of the local high school. What with them and the 15 double-decker buses, don't any of them walk home these days?

My washing machine died at the weekend. I've ordered a new one as the other one is 10 years old. Integrated washing machines are soo expensive.

Smoked haddock poached in milk with mashed potato for tea. He will have a poached egg too, and sugar snaps. Proper comfort food.

Time for an early swim, since I'm up and about.

I sugar-washed all the woodwork in my lounge yesterday in preparation of a coat of white gloss. Still in recovery! My excuse for planning to stay tucked up here in bed indefinitely. Well, that and the lashing rain I can hear.......

Reached a new stage in my life feeling old. I have cataracts so must wear prescription glasses for the first time in my life.

2nd Covid jab this morning at a nearby Nightingale Hospital. So grateful to get it done and never even felt the needle go in.

I planted three shrubs this morning. I'm cutting down on summer bedding plants and having more shrubs and perennials instead, to make less work, hopefully, in the future.

The Great British Sewing Bee ? is on tonight . Yippee .

It’s getting dark outside. Time for lights on, eat supper, go to bed and listen to the news.

The docs phoned to say they are starting up their clinics again, so I now have an appointment for my annual check up at the heart clinic. Yippee.

DGSs birthday today. He's 8. Hard to believe it. Where do the years go?

I’m in bed already. DH is watching football. I’m safer here if the wrong team score!

I've been cutting branches today from some of my unruly bushes / small trees.
I've ordered a mini chainsaw which I hope will help me with the thicker branches.

The BBC are requesting that we vote for a name for a baby raven at the Tower of London........so I just did from a short list on line

Is it laziness or threatening rain which is preventing me from going outside to do yet more gardening?

I should write my random post before reading the rest on here so as not to be influenced.
Meanwhile, decision making time. Shall I haul out the mower or will it rain this afternoon?
