Hello Again!?
Third thread here - too early for a Summer Time Special; especially considering the current weather ?️☔

Okay, here goes:
Who is your favourite comedian, and your least favourite?

ninathenana Wed 21-Jul-21 14:22:39

Custard tart yum!

If you like theatre how soon do you think you will you feel safe to go ?

BBbevan Thu 22-Jul-21 11:30:55

I love the theatre but shall not be going any time soon if I have to sit next to an unsocial distanced stranger with no face mask.

Do you think a lot about your youth?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 22-Jul-21 15:28:09

To a fair amount, yes I do. Mistakes, things I shouldn't have said or done, and the opposite, things I wish I had been brave enough to do - none of which can be put right. Don't we all?

Are there any household tasks which you loathe so much you put them off for a little too long?

DanniRae Thu 22-Jul-21 15:47:32

Washing the kitchen and dining room floors - luckily the flooring is dark brown. I do vacuum frequently though.

Are there any household chores that you do enjoy?
(I can't think of one!)

biglouis Thu 22-Jul-21 16:39:15

I dont mind washing the dishes but I dont enjoy it. I detest the rest.

Did you enjoy school sports day as a kid?

I was useless at sports so I always bunked off once the register was taken.

FannyCornforth Thu 22-Jul-21 18:40:23

I loathed everything to do with sports at school
I was there to learn - not leap about in polyester over-pants

Most overrated music act?
Mine is Elton John

Mollygo Thu 22-Jul-21 18:59:34

Elton John, Madonna, Amy Winehouse-I could go on.

If you visit NT properties are you more interested in the house or the garden?

biglouis Thu 22-Jul-21 22:12:02

I would be more interested in the house as I have a passion for history and antiques.

What are you wearing on this hot summer evening?

I live alone so I am wearing socks and flip-flops! No one to scare.

hollysteers Thu 22-Jul-21 23:54:11

Light cotton kaftan.

If you were choosing a new first name for yourself, what would it be? (I fancy Sasha)

Mollygo Fri 23-Jul-21 07:27:34

I always envied Elyzabeth her name when I was at school. So much better than Molly for the letters-in-your-name playground game. Now I’d probably stick with what I’ve got.

Do you remember any playground games you enjoyed?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 23-Jul-21 09:05:27

Skipping. We had variations - one was to try to skip up to your house number before stopping or stumbling which was all right if you lived at number 18 but a much bigger challenge if you were at number 250. Due to justified complaints we'd try to add them all up and divide by the number of 'skippers' to make it fair.

Are you a thrill-seeker?

biglouis Fri 23-Jul-21 10:13:30

If you mean things like extreme sports and such, no. I prefer the quiet life but I am getting on! I gave up parachuting and bungy jumping at 70.

Do you think its important to teach your children (or grandchildren) proper table manners?

FannyCornforth Fri 23-Jul-21 10:20:54

I don’t have any children - but yes, definitely

What is your favourite clothes shop?

BBbevan Fri 23-Jul-21 12:53:02

Seasalt I suppose. I love a rummage in TKMaxx and we have a Toast not too far. Biden is out. Too blobby and colourful now.

Will you watch the Olympics?

BBbevan Fri 23-Jul-21 12:54:14

Boden !!!!

DanniRae Fri 23-Jul-21 13:24:15

Yes I will watch the Olympics and hope it will all go smoothly.

What is your favourite Olympic sport? I love the athletics - especially the relays, so exciting!

FannyCornforth Fri 23-Jul-21 13:28:54

None of them! Most sport bores me rigid, even the exciting ones!
I’ll have to go with diving.

I quite like the Winter Olympics though, for the beautiful scenery and the ice skating

What’s in your makeup bag?

Platypus Fri 23-Jul-21 14:37:44

Absolutely nothing - I only carry my mobile and a mask when I go out now and pay for everything with Apple Pay.

Makeup bag at home though - foundation, bronzer, 2 eyeshadow sticks in cream and brown, white eyeliner, brown eyeliner, brown mascara, brown contour stick, gold highlighter stick and rose blush stick, rose lip liner and rose lipstick!

All that and I rarely ever wear it - I’m usually eau naturale!

Do you wear makeup everyday or rarely?

BlueBelle Fri 23-Jul-21 15:07:04

Everyday but only mascara eye liner and lippy takes two minutes but I do it automatically without fail unless I m ill same with earrings can’t get up without a pair of earrings going in
Following in from something I said in another thread
Do you often have a little cry over daft things ? Sometimes just a few tears sometimes a sobby sob but no real reason something small just sets you off ?

BBbevan Fri 23-Jul-21 18:26:38

Yes often and more lately.

What do you do about having a little cry ?

Rowantree Fri 23-Jul-21 20:20:58

I make jam and jelly with my OH but only from free fruit. We pick crab apples and bullaces from our own trees and blackberries, hawthorn, sloe, elder and Rowan berries and make a mix or just use one or two. Sometimes a friend gives us plums from her tree.

Do you ever feel lonely, and if so, when?

biglouis Sat 24-Jul-21 00:15:15

I live alone (by choice) and very rarely feel lonely. I do have some mobility problems and only really feel lonely/frustrated when I need to do something which I physically find difficult.

Would you accept Camilla Duchess of Cornwall as Queen?

I would have no objection as I think she suits Charles far better than Diana. A pity he did not marry her when they first met.

Mollygo Sat 24-Jul-21 06:16:43

Camilla’s title makes little difference to me. I agree with your answer.

I read somewhere that hæmorrhoid cream which shrinks piles will also tighten drooping facial skin. Do you think it’s true?

FannyCornforth Sat 24-Jul-21 08:08:10

I recall that the advice dates back to the golden age of Hollywood.
I think that the formulation for pike cream may have changed since then, as I’ve heard that people have tried it and it doesn’t work
Having said that, I think that people wrongly think that it works on wrinkles - it’s only supposed to shrink eye bags.

Which books did you enjoy when you were a child?

FannyCornforth Sat 24-Jul-21 08:09:13

Pile cream! Not Pike! (‘Don’t tell ‘em!’)
