Hello Again!?
Third thread here - too early for a Summer Time Special; especially considering the current weather ?️☔

Okay, here goes:
Who is your favourite comedian, and your least favourite?

crazyH Thu 26-Aug-21 18:23:43

Yes - The Power of Positive Thinking - I know it has helped many, but not me. Probably because I’m not malleable enough ?

Are you generous to a fault?

Mollygo Thu 26-Aug-21 22:11:31

Generous, yes I hope so but only with my own time and resources. One DB was far more generous-but his generosity involved offering contributions of time and resources from others in his family. We thought that was a fault.

Are you watching the Paralympics at all?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 27-Aug-21 12:49:51

I never watch the Olympics of any description.

What's your favourite radio programme?

May7 Fri 27-Aug-21 13:40:52

Lisa Tarbuck on a Sat . Shes just nuts really
How do you like your eggs cooked?

BBbevan Fri 27-Aug-21 16:32:25

Most ways. But not slimey

Do you use napkins at the table. Linen or paper?

crazyH Fri 27-Aug-21 17:08:58

Linen? No, paper ……

Mollygo Fri 27-Aug-21 17:57:51

crazyH

Linen? No, paper ……

Crazy H, I still have wedding present set of linen napkins with napkin rings, but I use paper ones and, if I’ve run out, kitchen roll will do.

It’s 6pm. What’s on your agenda for this evening?

hollysteers Fri 27-Aug-21 18:06:39

Off to get cash for the gardener tomorrow, eat left over chicken from last night, tidy as friend coming to stay overnight tomorrow and then watch My Unorthodox Life on Netflix.

Do you/did you get on with your in laws?

henetha Sat 28-Aug-21 10:51:46

Reasonably. I never met my father-in-law. DH and him had fallen out and never spoke again. But my mother in law was quite nice, although totally deaf with a poor quality hearing aid so we never really had a proper conversation. No rows ever, she was always pleasant.

Have you got good internet connection where you are?

FannyCornforth Sat 28-Aug-21 11:03:06

Yes. Excellent. I don’t live anywhere interesting enough to have a bad connection. (That’s how it works isn’t it?)

What games, toys etc did you enjoy when you were little?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 28-Aug-21 17:38:50

I loved a little kit called 'Floral Garden' which was a bit like a construction kit with a small pretend lawn, tiny plastic brick borders which interlocked, trellis and tiny flowers like roses, and pieces of card which resembled crazy paving. I've never seen it since but it can probably be found on vintage toy sites.

When we alter the clocks, how many must you deal with? Have you ever got caught out?

FannyCornforth Sun 29-Aug-21 06:13:28

Hmm… about six or seven.
Numerous watches, although I never wear a watch these days.
No, never been caught out. I’m well organised in that department.

I can’t seem to find anything these days. I’ve got far too much stuff.
Are you organised and neat and tidy? A place for everything, and everything in its place etc?

BBbevan Sun 29-Aug-21 06:35:54

Very tidy. New, larger house, so loads of cupboards etc. Everything lovely until DH puts things away. In the wrong place!!!!!

Are you doing anything special this Bank holiday?

FannyCornforth Sun 29-Aug-21 06:47:49

Oh you are sooo lucky.
That’s the thing, as I keep telling DH, it’s not that I’ve got too much stuff, it’s that the house is far too small.

No! I keep forgetting that it is a Bank Holiday!

What is the best present that you have ever been given?

DanniRae Sun 29-Aug-21 07:58:27

My best present was for my 60th Birthday - Mr R booked us a day trip on the Orient Express. We travelled to the coast and back whilst eating a wonderful lunch. It was an amazing experience smile

What is the best present that you ever bought anyone?
I bought Mr R a flying experience where he got to actually fly the plane!- he was so surprised and said he enjoyed it!

FannyCornforth Sun 29-Aug-21 08:06:24

Oh wow Danni how utterly fabulous! I’d love to go on the Orient Express
Sorry, no answer yet, I’m going to have a think.
Anyone else, feel free to answer DRs question; I just had to comment smile

Mollygo Sun 29-Aug-21 08:49:31

That’s an amazing present, Danni. I’m sure he enjoyed it really, and think of the bragging rights as well.
Not quite so exciting, I bought DH a Segway experience. When he saw people whizzing round in them in Portugal he kept saying he’d love to do that, so back in the UK I set it up.
He’s now saying he’d love to try an electric scooter . . .

Do you watch The Last Leg?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 29-Aug-21 17:14:13

I've sometimes caught parts of it and wish I found it funnier but it doesn't quite gel with me.

Will you watch A Question of Sport with the new line up?

Mollygo Sun 29-Aug-21 19:04:48

No. I stopped watching that some time ago and I’m not really interested in sport.
Having said that, DH likes it so it will be either watch it, or go to the gym! As the weather gets colder wet hair gets less appealing.

We’ve been told we don’t have to wear masks in work anymore. I think I will though.
Would you be happy to be told that? What would you do?

hollysteers Sun 29-Aug-21 22:46:13

I will carry on with my mask in the main, but lots aren’t bothering now.

Have you done any research on your family history?

FannyCornforth Mon 30-Aug-21 06:46:22

No, but my dad has, I think that I mentioned it upthread.
The history of both sides of the family are rather dull (unlike many of the characters themselves).

Only four more posts to go!
Shall I start another thread when this one is full?

FannyCornforth Mon 30-Aug-21 06:47:05

Oh, before we go, has anyone seen anything of Puzzler?

Mollygo Mon 30-Aug-21 08:52:51

FC yes, do start a new one.

hollysteers Tue 31-Aug-21 21:39:16

Another thread please Fanny!?

Do you like to be liked or doesn’t it bother you?

FannyCornforth Tue 31-Aug-21 21:50:44

Woo hoo!
Last post Holly!
I like to be liked by the people that I like.
I’d prefer that the people that I dislike to dislike me.
I’ll start a new thread in the morning.
Good night all. Any news of Puzzler, please let me know x
