Hello Again!?
Third thread here - too early for a Summer Time Special; especially considering the current weather ?️☔

Okay, here goes:
Who is your favourite comedian, and your least favourite?

BBbevan Fri 20-Aug-21 15:53:34

Both grandfathers were S Wales miners. My dad was a teacher. Both grandma’s and my Mam stayed at home.

Did you stay at home with your children when they were small, or did they go to a nursery.? I stayed home with mine until they went to school.

Eviebeanz Fri 20-Aug-21 16:04:38

I stayed at home with my children while they were small and didn't work outside of the home until my youngest was about 7.

What gift would give you most pleasure right now.

biglouis Sat 21-Aug-21 01:11:31

To have my health back the way it was 10 years ago

Were you ever bullied at school?

A bigger boy bullied my friends and I when we were first years (it was a mixed school). My father taught me to box and I broke his nose. No kid ever bullied me in school again because I was the kid who broke Graham B's nose.

nanna8 Sat 21-Aug-21 01:59:12

Question biglouis?

BBbevan Sat 21-Aug-21 07:09:41

No never bullied.

What do you do all day when it rains?

biglouis Sat 21-Aug-21 09:11:00

Weather makes little difference to me as I seldom go out anyway.

What was your worst (or most hated) subject in school?

Mine was sport

Mollygo Sat 21-Aug-21 09:11:07

Housework! In the hope that the rain will stop and I can go out.

Mollygo Sat 21-Aug-21 09:11:36

Do you ever go to McDonalds?

hollysteers Sat 21-Aug-21 09:19:11

Rarely, but I sometimes enjoy a KFC fried chicken.

Do you still enjoy any childlike things? (I collect pop up books).

FannyCornforth Sat 21-Aug-21 10:10:37

Holly that’s lovely
I’ve got a brilliant pop up book about Leonardo De Vinci
I think that I’m very childlike in lots of ways. I’m not very grown up at all!
I like animal toys, I’ve just bought a mice nativity.
MrC is going to make a stable for them.

Do you like Christmas? I love it

crazyH Sat 21-Aug-21 10:24:19

I used to love Christmas, midnight mass, opening presents, cake and wine after that. Then the preparation of the turkey and veg. But after my divorce, I went through the motions, just for the sake of the children. Now, its for the grandchildren....and I'm beginning to enjoy it as I don't have to do any cooking. Three kids and their families live around me, so it means getting up early and going to each house in turn.

crazyH Sat 21-Aug-21 10:25:13

Question: on the same line, where will you be spending this year?

Mollygo Sat 21-Aug-21 11:26:38

Home, Hertford, Hereford and Hampshire providing the hurricanes hold off! It’s our turn to do the visiting this year so we’ll be busy over the Christmas period.

Have you bought more, fewer or about the same amount of new clothes this year?

FannyCornforth Sat 21-Aug-21 11:44:07

Definitely more.Unfortunately I’m getting bigger and bigger.
I also mysteriously seem to have more money available, so it’s not all bad!

What is your favourite clothes shop? Do you buy online or in the actual shop?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 21-Aug-21 12:04:05

Marks and Spencers for underwear and some separates but I often can't find exactly what I want - isn't it the same for everyone? I always buy in store.

Do you ever have ten nice finger nails all at once?

FannyCornforth Sat 21-Aug-21 12:56:44

Ha! Rarely. For about half an hour every other month.
They are currently short. I get them to a marvellous length, and I admire them greatly; but I’m aware that I’m pushing my luck.
Then one (usually my right index finger nail) will snap, and I’ll cut them all short and start all over again.

What colour nail varnish do you favour?

DanniRae Sat 21-Aug-21 13:16:02

I use a subtle colour on my fingernails if I ever paint them (this is rare) because I hate my 'old lady' hands.
I always used to paint my toenails a brilliant red colour till I had to have one of my big toenails removed (ingrown toenail) Now I don't want anyone looking at my feet either. Oh dear how sad am I?? grin

Can you still cut your own toenails? I can just about manage to do my own - all 9 of them!! (See above)

henetha Sat 21-Aug-21 13:16:33

Various. Blue recently, but usually a pinkish/beige neutral colour. Ocassionally red if I feel lively.

Do you paint your toe nails? I do.

hollysteers Sat 21-Aug-21 14:34:39

Yes and have had pedicures before holidays abroad. They are a bit chipped at the mo.

Do you regularly read religious/spiritual books?

nanna8 Sun 22-Aug-21 00:12:33

Recently I have been reading some Christian books. Just read Corrie ten Boom about her experiences in World War 2. Inspiring.William Wilberforce next.

Do you watch the news every day on tv ?

Shinamae Sun 22-Aug-21 00:49:18

Yes, first thing when I get up and during the day as well, watch it far too much and really shouldn’t as I worry about things I can do nothing about

Do you drink enough water? I know I definitely don’t

denbylover Sun 22-Aug-21 02:06:41

I do, raspberry, black currant and a delicious one from black Doris plums. Very fond of marmalade but buy it, don’t make.

Would you rather have a glass of champagne or a cup of tea or coffee?

grandMattie Sun 22-Aug-21 05:59:30

A cup of tea. Champagne gives me a hangover if I smell it!

I’m a great jam/pickle/preserve maker, are you?

FannyCornforth Sun 22-Aug-21 07:12:22

No, I afraid not. The nearest I have got was buying a jam thermometer. I was going to make Turkish Delight, but I didn’t get around to it.

What’s the fiddliest, most time consuming thing that you have made?

nanna8 Sun 22-Aug-21 07:17:32

A double bed patchwork quilt. Just finished it. Never again! Looks good though.

Do you ever wear an apron these days?
