In school , I won a prize for best ‘essay’…..you could call it ‘creative’, though I can’t remember what it was about. I can remember the prize, an envelope containing the equivalent of 50p.

About 3, like it strong with manuka honey. Vary it with Earl Grey.

Would you say you are naturally maternal?

Extremely! But not possessive…

Do you dye/have you dyed your hair?

Yes, I dye my hair dark brown.

Do you use a manicurist/pedicurist ? If so, how often?

No , never as I do my own nails .
Pedicure when my football team are playing ‘away’ and I do it whilst listening to the match on the radio . Same for manicure, but extra changes of finger nail polish in between .

Do you tint your eyebrows and /or lashes? Or go to a salon ?

No tints of salon visits. Ive never done anything like that.

What charities do you regularly donate to?

I donate to St Dunstans (which helps disabled service vets and their families) . I dont think we value our military enough in this country. I also donate to a couple of small local charities for animals.

I am a bit cynical of big powerful charities and of where my money is going.

I don’t . My charity begins at home.

Which is your favourite News program?

I like Question Time on the TV, and Any Questions / Any Answers on the radio.
I also like Today in Parliament and the Today program

I have been watching the Tudors and the Handmaid's Tale again.

I used to sleep in a full head of rollers in my teens. I can’t imagine how I did it now.

Do you always measure carefully before ordering anything.
I ordered a new house for my tortoise thinking that, as it was advertised for a tortoise, the doorway would be wide enough. He’s going to struggle to get in and dieting won’t help!

Yes, I measure carefully but still get it wrong. My shed is too small but much too late to whinge about it now.

Do you still enjoy a traditional roast dinner or have you changed to lighter fare?

This morning felt autumnal here and for the first time in months I fancied a roast dinner.

What is the best improvement you've made to your home?

Oh I love a traditional roast dinner, but haven’t had one for a long time. I live on my own, so I just can’t do a roast for one. Last Sunday, I was seriously thinking of ordering one from the local restaurant. My children don’t seem to do roasts that often.
