Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

hollysteers Wed 06-Oct-21 11:20:42

No, only when younger being a touch obsessed by a boyfriend!

Do you enjoy shopping for its own sake?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 06-Oct-21 09:07:43

I like white floury bread as it's easy on the teeth/gums. M&S do packs of three types of small buns - white, wholemeal and one which has soft 'bits' in it - forgotten the name.

Would you say you have an obsessive personality?

BBbevan Tue 05-Oct-21 19:38:56

Yes hydrangeas , Michaelmas daisies and Japanese anemones. Plus two hibiscus trees.

What sort of bread do you like.?

Me ….walnut cob

Mollygo Tue 05-Oct-21 16:56:05

Driving DH’s car, 86mph is so easy I don’t notice. Hope the police aren’t around. My car will go over 70, but it lets me know if I do.

Do you still have flowers blooming In your garden?

hollysteers Tue 05-Oct-21 16:54:28

Naughtily, I have done a ton on a motorway when younger?

“When the going gets tough the tough go shopping”
Do you enjoy shopping for its own sake?
(I do very occasionally)

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 05-Oct-21 15:46:52

Grandma gave us cod liver oil which was vile but mum gave us a little Haliborange tablet which was pleasant. Remember those?

For motorists - what's the fastest you've ever driven? I admit to 90 mph on a straight quiet road in the middle of nowhere just the once. I wouldn't do so again.

TillyTrotter Tue 05-Oct-21 15:41:02

Mainly sponsoring (younger) folk who are doing runs, climbs, abseiling,
and we also prepare a small box of foods from the list of what is most needed at our Trussell Trust Food Bank monthly.

Did your mum/dad give you a teaspoon of olive oil (or anything else yucky) in the winter? (yes for me).

FannyCornforth Tue 05-Oct-21 14:28:41

Always ignore! We’ve had a few chuggers around here of late.

Do you regularly give to charity?
Do you have any favoured ones?

biglouis Tue 05-Oct-21 14:09:14

Yes - I recommend a TENS machine for arthritis, muscle and joint pains. It has certainly helped my arthritis. I am now going to buy the wifi version so I can walk around with it in place. You can get them on Amazon from about £30 up to what you want to pay.

Do you ever ignore the door when you are not expecting anyone and are in the middle of eating, having a nap or dont wish to be disturbed?

I only answer when someone has an appointment or my camera shows me a postie/courier with a parcel.

FannyCornforth Tue 05-Oct-21 10:36:26

crazyH I’m so glad that you asked that question! I’ve got a couple of beauty recommendations.

1. Nivea Magicbar. It’s just for washing your face, and it leaves your skin feeling lovely and fresh and soft.

2. UK Lash serum! Oh my goodness! It really works! My lashes look absolutely gorgeous, if I do say so myself! Really long and dark.
I’ve been using the Brow version for about two weeks, and that’s doing the business too.
I can’t recommend it enough.

Is there anything that you have recently bought that you highly recommend?

crazyH Mon 04-Oct-21 20:39:47

Oh yes - quite a few. As they say, don’t look back…easier said than done.

Do you have one beauty routine that you maintain without fail ? (Mine is 1) I never go out without a dab of lipstick and 2) always paint my nails, except for a couple of days every few weeks, when I let my nails ‘breathe’?

hollysteers Mon 04-Oct-21 19:54:28

Not incidents from the past, but I dream about my late husband and mother and it is as if they have never left.

Do you have many regrets?
(I have a few)

biglouis Mon 04-Oct-21 16:58:08

Not every day, only when I want to do a photo shoot in the garden (for my online shop)

Do you ever have dreams about incidents in the past?

I have very vivid ones and it sometimes feel as though they happened only yesterday (the incidents) although they were decades ago.

TillyTrotter Mon 04-Oct-21 16:51:47

Oohh, question :
do you check the weather forecast every day? (I do).

TillyTrotter Mon 04-Oct-21 16:50:15

Not unless I have to. I am a fine weather leisure walker ?‍♀️

BBbevan Mon 04-Oct-21 16:06:24

I can walk miles but DH has a wonky knee and limps after a while. We still try to walk for an hour or so ,three times a week, but we used to walk 10 miles easily. Old age is creeping up.

Do you walk whatever the weather ?

henetha Mon 04-Oct-21 11:24:42

Christmas, that over-spending, over-eating beanfeast.
Sorry to be an old misery, but I just do not like Christmas.
(Although I realise it is a joyful time for many and means getting together with family. I still don't like it though!)

How many miles can you walk? Did you used to do longer walks?

DanniRae Mon 04-Oct-21 08:41:34

Yes, my temper! I am well known for putting things away 'in a safe place' and then forgetting where I put it. I now tell Mr R where I have put things and, so far, neither of us can remember. Hence the loss of temper angry

Are you allowing yourself to look forward to Christmas? I am not sure if it is wise to or not confused (I usually do, BTW)

Billybob4491 Mon 04-Oct-21 07:07:03

No but my husband won my hand in marriage!

I mislay more umbrellas than you can shake a stick at, do you lose anything on a regular basis?

FannyCornforth Mon 04-Oct-21 06:05:43

I’ve entered a few of the book ones on here.
I won a Psychic TV T-shirt in a competition in Smash Hits.
Psychic TV were a very odd, little known band in the 80s. They told me I was the only person who entered!
I can’t think of anything since…

How about you? Have you ever won anything?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 03-Oct-21 18:55:40

My maternal grandma was a very Victorian lady, rather strict and forbidding, no cuddles whatsoever, grandfather died before I was born. She lived round the corner and we visited her with mum on the way home from school twice a week. I wouldn't say we really formed a relationship as such.

Paternal grandma was very nice on the rare occasions we visited - she lived two bus rides away so not very convenient. She lived with a chap we referred to as Uncle. Later we were told that they weren't married as granddad wouldn't agree to a divorce. The latter we never met.

All in all, a bit weird really.

Do you go in for competitions? Ever won anything?

biglouis Sun 03-Oct-21 16:10:34

My father was scary so I was closer to my mother.

Did you have a good relationship with your grandparents?

I was far closer to my maternal grandmother than either parent. My maternal grandfather died when I was 7. I did not know my paternal grandparents.

hollysteers Sun 03-Oct-21 16:06:11

Drawing and reading.
I have returned to art in lockdown.

Were you closer to your mother or your father?
(Mother for me, my father was frightening)

Ali08 Sun 03-Oct-21 13:06:19

Not as much as I used to be. I'd hide under the bed.
I like to see lightning as it can make pretty skies. Thunder often makes me jump!

What hobbies did you have when you were a child, and do you still do any of them?

grandMattie Sun 03-Oct-21 12:30:31

Day of rest/church, except in dire emergencies for food.

Are you frightened of thunder/lightning?
