I prepare early in Dec and look forward to Christmas Day, we really enjoy it but then it flies by too fast. That is the
‘let-down’for me.

Have you posted any Christmas cards yet?

No, I’m a last minute person, but I have drawn a couple of handmade cards.

Do you feel closer to one of your children and feel guilt if you do?

Yes I do, a bit, and yes I feel guilty about it.

Are you good at unblocking sinks/drains etc?

I can usually manage it but have had to call the plumber once.

Do you drive in snow and ice? I avoid it unless it's absolutely necessary.

I wouldn't drive in flurries of snow if I could avoid it. When I was a new driver DH made me drive round a quiet car park to get used to it and while that type of driving suits me - careful and conscientious - I still dread it.

If you could be a DJ for the day which radio station would you 'take over' and which music would you play or topics would you discuss?

I would probably play 1960s music - folk, country and western and Tamala Motown - quite a mixture so I dont know which individual station would be suitable.

Do you ever feel the need to "hibernate" on these cold wet days? Just chill with TV or a book?

I havnt even been into the garden since saturday!

Do you have a favourite genre for watching on tv?

Crime dramas. I do like the Scandi ones too.

If you had a choice what would you want as a Christmas present?

New iPadPro with pencil and keyboard. I’ve written to Santa. Otherwise, bone resonance headphones and failing that, new puppy resistant slippers!

What about anyone else’s Christmas desire?

All expenses paid week in Paris would be nice.

Both! I sell on several online antiques platforms and buy on others. I also buy at auctions, private sales etc.

What do you do when you decide to have a chill out day at home?

I laze about in a kaftan, eat guilty snacks and watch Netflix or read a book.

Just don’t do any housework. Watch tv, read, knitting and sit by the fire. Always get dressed though in case someone visits

Are you worried that your Christmas plans might be disrupted due to the new variant?

Not worried but I would be disappointed as that would be two restricted Christmases.

Is it very cold today where you are?

It's wet, rather than cold, we've had some sleet followed by heavy rain.

Have you ever found an item to be useful for something other than its original purpose? I found that interdental brushes are great for cleaning the little holes in my hearing aids.

I use old toothbrushes for cleaning around taps etc.

Do you have your main meal at lunchtime, or early evening?

Early evening.

Cheese before or after the dessert.
(Having been brought up in a French mannered household, cheese was always before dessert!)

Cheese after pudding.

Do you take away as much as you can after a hotel stay?
(A friend’s partner takes the toilet rolls!)?

Used toiletries only.

Which news programme do you prefer?

Sky because its more diverse in its reporting than BBC

Do you mind unexpected callers or welcome them to break the monotony?

I hate unexpected callers. I got a "ring" doorbell so I could make a decision whether to answer or not. I mostly only answer for delivery people.

I very much dislike unexpected callers, unless it's immediate family menbers. Ggggrrrr.......

Have you tried selling old gold items, online or wherever?
If so, did you get a fair price for it?

No, couldn’t be bothered and the kids can have the lot when I die.

Do you still read newspapers ( not online, the real thing)?

Not any more but I sometimes buy one if I am having a coffee in town to browse through.

Do you think dogs can sense moods?

I'm sure many animals can. Late DH worked on a dairy farm in his youth, he said that if he had a hangover or was in a bad mood when he milked them they could sense it, were a bit frisky and gave less milk.

Do you prepare hanging baskets for the garden each year?

No I’m not terribly keen on hanging baskets. They remind me somewhat of pubs.

Do you make a Christmas wreath for your front door, or perhaps buy one? I always make my own .

No, but I am thinking about one for this year. A bought one.

Do you grow any plants from seed?
