Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

BBbevan Fri 10-Sept-21 10:36:31

A potato ricer. DH really wanted one and I think it has only been used a few times. We don’t eat potatoes and if we did I would mash them with a fork.

What is your favourite sandwich.?

Mollygo Fri 10-Sept-21 11:51:25

New York Deli. Pastrami, cheese lettuce, pickle and mustard Mayo.
Mmmmm I wish I had one now.

Favourite brand/ flavour of yoghurt?

biglouis Fri 10-Sept-21 13:13:30

Im not fussy - I buy the supermarkets own in any fruit flavour. Not a foodie or w wine buff.

Favorite wine?

I like a German dry white. Never drink red.

AGAA4 Fri 10-Sept-21 15:49:54

I only drink white wine too. I like Chablis , Sancerre or a sauvignon blanc best.

Do you enjoy decorating?

TillyTrotter Fri 10-Sept-21 15:58:36

Yes, the idea of it and the choosing of new colours and all those details, but I like someone else to actually do the decorating.

If you could choose only one cheese - which would be your favourite?

BBbevan Fri 10-Sept-21 16:38:11

Cheddar

Fish and chips or……..?

henetha Sat 11-Sept-21 10:42:35

Sausage and chips. Or sweet and sour chicken if we are talking about take-aways.

Have you ever spent Christmas day completely alone?

TillyTrotter Sat 11-Sept-21 11:34:35

No. I’ve spent it with one other person and ignored tradition, eaten Spaghetti Bolognese and Tiramisu, and gone for a long walk in scruffs and wellies.

Do you still hug/ kiss people as much when you meet them, as you did pre-Covid?

hollysteers Sat 11-Sept-21 11:55:24

No, I try not to, but so many people just force themselves on you.

What would improve the quality of your life?

biglouis Sat 11-Sept-21 12:03:41

An improvement in my health and mobility!

Have you ever had a picnick with kids in the garden or a park?

I dont have kids but I had my grand nieces over and we had a picnick, wore silly clothes and face paint.

henetha Sun 12-Sept-21 11:57:19

Yes, lot of picnics with children and grandchildren. Often on Dartmoor. And in various parks.

Do you ever take a flask of coffee (or tea) when you go out, to save money, or maybe you don't like cafes?

biglouis Sun 12-Sept-21 12:59:11

I have in the distant past on a day out but now because of mobility problems a flask would be one more thing to carry. I might do it for a very long car journey.

Do you find it stressful expecting a delivery?

I find that I feel on edge until they have been. Its easier now becase I have cctv cameras which alert me to movement on the drive.

crazyH Sun 12-Sept-21 12:59:37

I don’t. But my friend who does make a good cup of tea, takes a teabag with her, asks for a pot of hot water and sits down in the cafe to enjoy her tea ? I am too embarrassed to sit with her, so I go round the shops while she enjoys her tea. I am almost sure, one of these days she will get her comeuppance and they will refuse to give her the hot water . ??

TillyTrotter Sun 12-Sept-21 13:26:13

No not stressed by deliveries, but am always glad when they have arrived and I know I can go out if I want to.

Have you bought anything for C*******s ? yet?

Mollygo Sun 12-Sept-21 13:27:39

Re the delivery question, biglouis, it was more stressful during lockdown. Previously we shared arrangements with neighbours, to take in deliveries for each other if we were out. Now it’s easier again.

Have you/would you ever done a marathon or even a sponsored walk?

Newatthis Sun 12-Sept-21 14:06:06

Lots if sponsored walks and a 5K, dies that count?
How many for Christmas this year?

BBbevan Sun 12-Sept-21 16:32:21

Might be 4, but hope for 12,.

Do you have outside lights at Christmas. Reindeers, FC etc ?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 12-Sept-21 16:36:39

No, I don't have lights but I put a garland on the front door, that's as far as I go.

Do you have any little niggles about your house which you'd change if you could?

Mollygo Sun 12-Sept-21 17:02:44

Yes! The front doorstep. My next door neighbour had hers done when she had her drive done and it looks lovely.
I wish I could do it. Oh and I wish I could get some rooms required so I could reach the plugs more easily.

We’ve just had a group of horses/riders including a led goal going past our house, they looked lovely but the mess they left is awful.
Should they pick it up?

Mollygo Sun 12-Sept-21 17:03:09

Rewired nor required.

AGAA4 Sun 12-Sept-21 17:09:33

Dog owners have to pick up so I think horse riders should too. There is a narrow path that is used by walkers and it is often covered in horse poo making it impossible not to get it all over shoes and paws.
Do you exercise every day?

biglouis Mon 13-Sept-21 12:25:05

I do exercises for my arthritis but not running or jogging.

Would you like to try out a driverless car?

I dont drive. However Id love a truly driverless one that I could jump into and tell it where to go.

hollysteers Mon 13-Sept-21 12:28:03

No, it sounds terrifying.

Are you judgmental about obese people?

FannyCornforth Mon 13-Sept-21 12:49:09

No, I’m fat myself!
I have also been very slim too (7 stone) so I have a good perspective on body image etc

Do you have any pets?

Mollygo Mon 13-Sept-21 13:52:33

A tortoise. So responsive in summer, loves salad stuff, bean sprouts and bedding plants! No hair, no smell, garden trained, sleeps all winter. Lovely pet.

How long would you keep helium filled balloons? We had some sent for a significant anniversary over a month ago and they’re still looking good.
