Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

hollysteers Sun 19-Sept-21 20:19:39

No, but I record series I like, Miss Marple, Poirot, First Dates, Gogglebox.

Trapped in a lift for an hour, choose one person to be with
(James Mason, young and alive?)

TillyTrotter Sun 19-Sept-21 20:23:30

Bob Mortimer for his daft sense of humour.

Did you enter competitions on Blue Peter when you were young? Or win a Blue Peter badge?

Mollygo Sun 19-Sept-21 20:38:14

Yes and yes. Funny how my artwork went unappreciated in school though.

TillyTrotter Sun 19-Sept-21 21:11:20

Do you have a question please Mollygo ?

Mollygo Mon 20-Sept-21 08:01:51

Sorry.
There are people who walk past our house on a regular basis and have done since first lockdown, but the number has dwindled.
Do you think there are fewer walkers now than during lockdown?

FannyCornforth Mon 20-Sept-21 08:12:47

Definitely! Our house is on a road on route to three small parks.
During lock down it was like Oxford Street at Christmas!

Whose speaking voice do you like?

TillyTrotter Mon 20-Sept-21 08:52:39

Nigel Havers

Same question to someone else?

travelsafar Mon 20-Sept-21 08:53:36

I like Sean Connery's voice, so deep and manly.

Does it feel like Autumn to you today?

FannyCornforth Mon 20-Sept-21 08:55:15

Male: Roger Allam (swoon)
Female: Juliet Stevenson

(That is the definitive answer Tilly, no one else need answer!)

henetha Mon 20-Sept-21 09:37:08

Definitely feels like autumn here. I had to use my Karcher window vac for the condensation this morning.

Do you have lots of art in your house? Paintings etc.?

BBbevan Mon 20-Sept-21 11:28:53

Yes we do. Mostly Welsh artists and all original.

Are you vegetarian, or might you consider it?

Aldom Mon 20-Sept-21 11:32:24

While not officially vegetarian my diet is mainly fish and vegetarian dishes. I've always enjoyed vegetarian foods.
Do you have sensitive skin?

hollysteers Mon 20-Sept-21 11:45:17

No, but now I’m getting older, I have dry patches which I never used to have.

Your drag name is your grandmother’s Christian name plus the last thing you ate?
(Amy Banana in my case)

FannyCornforth Mon 20-Sept-21 11:47:39

Doreen Soup
Or
Margaret Cheese-Twists

(One sounds very working class, and the other more upper crust! smile)

And yours?

biglouis Mon 20-Sept-21 11:55:48

Elizabeth Peach!

What do you have for a typical weekday breakfast?

Mine is coffee, yogurt and toast

BBbevan Mon 20-Sept-21 12:40:22

Mary Halloumi

Only eat breakfast at weekends , peanut and banana pancakes are a favourite.

How much is too much for an ordinary pair of shoes ? I’m thinking Toast here

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 20-Sept-21 15:08:23

I'd say £50 or 60 maybe for a decent pair of shoes - I'm probably terribly out of whack with modern fashionable pricing. I've never bought from Toast as I'm more of a Clarks woman or even supermarket shoes as long as they're comfortable. I'm mean as well and hate designer labels.

Have you ever been up the Eiffel Tower or similar? Did you find it scary?

Juliet27 Mon 20-Sept-21 15:39:36

Only to the first floor of the Eiffel Tower and didn’t find it scary. However, I did go the the top of the World Trade Centre not long before the tragedy. The very thought now is scary.

Have you ever owned a tortoise?

hollysteers Mon 20-Sept-21 20:28:03

No, but I quite fancy having one. I don’t think they are too much trouble.

Name something that a lot of people like, but you can’t stand.
(In my case, soap operas)

crazyH Mon 20-Sept-21 20:30:05

Got one for the children when they were young - sadly , he didn’t live very long .

Juliet, I was watching wall to wall coverage of 9/11. I can’t imagine what it must be like for you and others who have been there to watch those documentaries !!!

Question: Do you feel scared every time you enter a lift ?

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 03:21:42

Holly to answer your question: Summer, eggs, socialising (so please don’t invite me to a Summer Egg Party!)

Re lifts. Yes, I suppose I do feel scared.

I’ll share a lift story with you ( hold onto your hats!)
I recently went to the hospital and it said on the lift doors - ‘only two people allowed’.
So I’m happily (well, just a little bit scared) standing in the lift on my own (mask on), the doors are closing, and just before the doors shut, a family of three open the doors and march in (masks off).
So I walk out of the lift, just as quick.
And they gave me a right dirty look!

What’s on your bedside table?

biglouis Tue 21-Sept-21 04:41:18

Lamp, clock, radio and panic alarm for the security system

When was the last time you cleaned behind your fridge?

I cant remember!

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 06:16:41

Not since we got it! shock
I wouldn’t be able to pull it out.
Out of sight, out of mind…
I know that we need to get a cleaner, but I’ve got to declutter first. It’s a never ending vicious circle.

Favourite hymn, or carol

Mollygo Tue 21-Sept-21 06:32:42

Shine Jesus Shine -hymn
The Candle Song -carol , both by Graham Kendrick

Same question-my mind is still too dozy to think of a new one.

FannyCornforth Tue 21-Sept-21 06:37:00

I vow to thee my country (because it was my mom’s favourite)
The Holly & The Ivy, because it’s about nature. I love it

Favourite thing on toast?
