Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

henetha Sat 12-Mar-22 11:08:30

Not yet. But will soon hopefully. Don't like driving at night, so looking forward to lighter evenings.

Do you ever make jelly? I like jelly made with fruit in it.
A tin of mandarin oranges in orange jelly is lovely.

Mollygo Fri 11-Mar-22 21:29:34

Hard to say. I don’t put softener in with my towels but I do give them a quick tumble to fluff them up. If it’s for a quick dry, rough. If it’s for lounging around in drinking tea, soft and fluffy.

Are you doing anything different now the nights are lighter?

hollysteers Fri 11-Mar-22 20:36:34

Just stored in computer. So many photos will just vanish into the ether…….

Do you prefer a hard or soft towel?

SachaMac Fri 11-Mar-22 16:34:33

I like Spring, the lighter evenings and the thought of warmer days.

Do you ever get photographs printed or just store them in your computer/cloud.

AGAA4 Fri 11-Mar-22 16:12:27

Yes. I have one in 3 of my rooms.

Which season do you like best? I like autumn.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 11-Mar-22 15:57:32

The walls of my little house are magnolia (courtesy of the builder) except for the smallest room which is sky blue. I haven't the wherewithal to improve on this yet and thus added colour with soft furnishings which are largely duck egg blue, pale grey or cream. Easy on the eye.

Have you got a mantelpiece?

BBbevan Fri 11-Mar-22 12:17:17

Kitchen, very large and very light. Purple walls, deep blue island unit and white cupboards.
Living room, hall and landing, and out bedroom green and white. Oak floors through out.

Carry on with the same question

henetha Fri 11-Mar-22 10:43:00

I've done loads of self catering in the past, but now I like the luxury of a hotel and just being waited on and not having to wash the dishes etc.

I'll repeat AGAA4's question....
What colours do you have in your house, ? Furniture, walls etc.?

SachaMac Thu 10-Mar-22 14:35:23

I have Netflix streamed via my daughters account but don’t really watch a great deal, enjoyed Afterlife though.

Do you prefer self catering or hotel based holidays

AGAA4 Thu 10-Mar-22 14:34:05

I subscribe to both and am always able to find something interesting to watch.

What colours do you have in your house? Furniture, walls etc.

BBbevan Thu 10-Mar-22 12:47:25

Yes we have. Small white ones around the roof in the conservatory.

Do you subscribe to Netflix, Amazon etc.? And are you happy with your choice?

henetha Wed 09-Mar-22 19:10:39

I only buy bottled water when travelling, and always still. Not keen on fizzyness. It makes me burp.

I left one row of coloured lights up after Christmas as they are so pretty.
Do you have any little strings of lights in your house?

Mollygo Wed 09-Mar-22 18:43:12

I don’t want to go into the virtues of tapwater here but if you buy a small bottle of water, would you buy still or sparkling?

Mollygo Wed 09-Mar-22 18:42:05

DH does the bins here too. I do the bills and accounts and any admin that needs the internet. Other than that we share.

BBbevan Wed 09-Mar-22 14:05:29

Grass has to be real. Mind you I don’t have to cut it and we have a very long garden which is mostly lawn.

Do you have clear delineation of jobs at home ? . We share most even down to the ironing. But DH always does the bins and me the washing.

DanniRae Wed 09-Mar-22 13:42:14

I love daffodils - they are so bright and cheerful and not as fragile as some of the other Spring bulbs.

Would you rather have real grass or artificial grass?
It's real grass for me but I don't have to mow it - that's Mr R's job smile

SachaMac Wed 09-Mar-22 11:48:36

My favourite ornaments are a lovely hand carve Buddha picked up on a wonderful holiday in Sri Lanka and a lovely Art Deco vase that belonged to my Aunt, both bring back happy memories. I have tried to declutter a little but can’t help but pick more things up when I see something I like.

What is your favourite spring bulb?

FannyCornforth Wed 09-Mar-22 11:07:23

No, I don’t do parties.
I might buy some memorabilia though.

What is your favourite ornament in your home?

I have far too many bits and pieces.
My mom used to say that people who don’t like to dust always have lots of ornaments.
She was so right, as usual

crazyH Wed 09-Mar-22 10:47:26

Yes, I have written a Will, but like you, I need to do a Codicil regarding my personal items, like Jewellery etc. I would also like to write a personal letter to each of my 3 children.

Are you planning any parties to celebrate the Queens Jubilee.? My d.il.’s mother is a devoted Royal fan and I have been invited to her Party.

henetha Wed 09-Mar-22 10:25:10

I leave a small lamp on in the kitchen which I can see glimmers of in my bedroom. It makes me feel so much better. I never did like complete darkness. It has a low energy bulb.

Are your affairs in order, in case the worst happens? I've made a will but want to change it, I think. And I've written lots of information in a notebook.

hollysteers Wed 09-Mar-22 09:21:20

Just a few, for sentimental reasons; an LP of my opera singing teacher and another given to me after a masterclass with a well known singer.

Do you leave a light on at night in the house or outside, or sleep in complete darkness?

SachaMac Tue 08-Mar-22 19:14:18

I prefer a good TV drama or film but if it’s a documentary about something or someone I’m particularly interested in I will tune in and enjoy. I don’t like reality TV shows.

Do you still have a collection of vinyl records.

crazyH Tue 08-Mar-22 19:05:31

If I’m at home, almost every hour, I watch the headlines on SkyNews

Do you prefer Fictional Programmes or Truelife Documentaries?

Mollygo Tue 08-Mar-22 18:14:36

Bell bottoms, T shirts and platform shoes are what I remember most. I had quite a few flowery tops as well.
I loved platforms, as I had never been so tall as at that time.

How often do you watch the news in a day? I think DH would watch News 24.

BBbevan Tue 08-Mar-22 17:22:04

Film director possibly David Lean.

Dress, ..plain black, slightly fitted. I think the label Said ’ Dolly Rocker’ 1960s style

What was the fashion when you were in your teens. Did you like it and wear it?
