Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

henetha Tue 18-Jan-22 10:16:42

So do I, FC. I too have vivid dreams and nightmares.
It's not pleasant is it. Perhaps you could turn your epic nightmare into a plot for a book? smile

Do you peel apples? Or just wash them? Or neither?
Do you eat lots of fruit?

Aldom Tue 18-Jan-22 10:38:55

I never peel apples, always wash them though. I peel pears, different skin texture.
Blueberries, frozen cherries, bananas, satsumas are amongst the variety of fruits that I enjoy.
Do you have many different birds visiting your garden?

DanniRae Tue 18-Jan-22 11:56:03

No - just sparrows and pigeons.

Do you feed the birds? I have a bird feeder to feed the sparrows and I always have water out for them. They bathe in it and drink it grin

AGAA4 Tue 18-Jan-22 13:25:23

No we had to stop in our neighbourhood as it was encouraging rats. The pest controller told us that they came for the spillings from the feeders.

Do you feel you could do more with your time?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 18-Jan-22 16:46:10

Others probably think I should do more but I feel I do enough, I like to take my time with whatever I do and be thorough. I can't be doing with all that dashing about.

Same question again.

Grandpajo Tue 18-Jan-22 19:46:38

Yes.As I get older I've got comfortable with the usual stuff I always do.For example going to centre parks in April DW said do you want to go kayaking with the kids.I said no I'll pass. But then I realised how boring I was being again ..so I quickly said yes book it for me too.I have to be more adventurous.

What was your favourite holiday you've been on and why?

giulia Tue 18-Jan-22 20:22:12

To Minehead, Somerset, with my mother and sister. I was about fourteen. It was September and we walked on Exmoor. I'll never forget the gorgeous colours of the flowers at that time.
Don't remember what they were. Think it was a mixture of heathers and gorse.

Do you like the way you look?

Mollygo Tue 18-Jan-22 23:28:42

Yes mostly. Except when I get out of the swimming pool and my hair is a mess.
Do you use WhatsApp videos to contact family and friends?

biglouis Tue 18-Jan-22 23:58:59

Ive never used WhatsApp and have no idea what it does.

I use Pinterest for my business and FB and twitter (rarely)

However I do have online banking and grocery delivery.

Do you bank online? I cant remember the last time I went into one.

Billybob4491 Wed 19-Jan-22 06:51:41

No I would never do online banking heard too many horror stories,

Do you support your local shops as much as you are able to?

AGAA4 Wed 19-Jan-22 11:40:15

Sadly over the years the shops in the village have gone. We only have a chemist and a co-op now.

Do you shop online?

biglouis Thu 20-Jan-22 02:46:16

Yes - I do all my grocery shopping on Tesco and buy most of my bits and pieces on Amazon. Less so on Ebay. As a disabled non driver I rely on online shopping. There are NO shops within walking distance here.

Have you ever employed a cleaner?

I have one for 4 hours a week as there is a lot I cannot do in the house. She also packs and puts away my Tesco shop (something I hate) and is happy to do any little DIY jobs so long as she doesnt have to climb. She occasionally picked up odd bits of shopping for me. I just pay her for the hours she works.

FannyCornforth Thu 20-Jan-22 05:36:50

Biglouis it’s interesting that you mention that, as I really, really need a cleaner as I’m really, really struggling with keeping in top of things due to my mobility and pain issues.
I keep putting it off because I want to sort out the house first. It’s a ridiculous chicken / egg / vicious circle set up.

Same question please - cleaners: yay or nay?

FannyCornforth Thu 20-Jan-22 05:37:49

Your cleaner sounds absolutely amazing louis. You must love her

henetha Thu 20-Jan-22 10:14:57

I don't have a cleaner, but I definitely will need one quite soon, - like tomorrow! grin
I'm envious, biglouis

Have you ever fallen down and really hurt yourself? (apart from childhood)

AGAA4 Thu 20-Jan-22 10:43:12

Yes. I fell on a rough pathway and cut both knees and hands. Also badly bruised my ribs. I was lying there trying to get to my feet when I felt 2 strong arms lift me. A workman at one of the houses had seen me fall. He put me in his van and took me to my doctor. I will never forget his kindness.

Have you ever had a bad injury?

Sorry to hear that hope you all recovered ok.Thank god for that workman seeing you and getting you quickly to hospital.

Not really that I can think of.

Are you a keen gardener?

BBbevan Thu 20-Jan-22 12:35:12

Not exactly keen but we have a large garden which is a lot of work. Still it keeps us fit.

Do you have any names in your family that are used by all generations?

Ali08 Thu 20-Jan-22 13:53:43

Not by all generations but one of my granddaughters has Elizabeth as a middle name, which was my grandmother's name and a name of one of her dad's grandmother's.
When my DC's dad passed on, they started using his name in various ways as middle names for the boys, as did their stepbrother, which I think is beautiful!
But my siblings & I weren't given middle names (mum didn't see the point) and we weren't named for anyone.

Do you do any crafts, if so what, and will you be making anything for Valentines or Easter?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 20-Jan-22 16:26:47

I've made Valentines cards in the past but it's not appropriate now, I may make a few Easter cards.

Do you take after either of your parents?

Billybob4491 Thu 20-Jan-22 16:47:06

Absolutely not!

I have had a wonderful day, did you do anything exciting?

AGAA4 Thu 20-Jan-22 17:07:10

Just a usual day for me but I did get an unexpected phone call from my DS which was a bonus.

Do you think animals have unique personalities?

biglouis Fri 21-Jan-22 01:34:43

Certainly! Im not a cat/dog person myself - I like reptiles. When I was younger I never had less than 4 tortoises and they had very distinctive personalities. Some were quite gentle and others rather aggressive. I had one which would bite my bare toes!

My nephew has a lovely ginger cat with a very pronounced personality. He has different meows for his various requirements and lets you know exactly what he wants - food/water/tray clean and so on.

Still on the subject of animals:-

Have you ever had one that died and you really grieved for it as much as you would for a person?

FannyCornforth Fri 21-Jan-22 04:23:15

I had a ginger cat called Stanley and he was really, really vocal too.
I wonder if it’s a ginger thing?
He lived to a great age and went deaf, and he got very loud. He’d wonder around the house shouting. It was so funny.
He was a smashing cat smile

Re grieving. Yes, when my little dog Lily died. I was a mess. I was devastated. I could still cry about her now.
I’d be the same about Gracie too.
I don’t have children and my dogs really are my babies.

What are you doing at the moment?
I’m in bed, with Gracie at the bottom of the bed, listening to stupid Steve Allen on LBC.
I’ve just done Wordle and got it in a disappointing 4.
Might put the kettle on…

BBbevan Fri 21-Jan-22 06:28:26

Still in bed waiting for DH to wake up and make tea. Sometimes it is a long wait .
