No I never have a lie in whatever day it is. It’s up, shower and dress for me as soon as I’ve had a cup of tea,. Which DH makes.

I was discussing things one doesn’t do anymore with an aunt who is over 90. She remembered ‘Whitsun Walks ‘ with the church.
Do you remember those or anything similar ?

I once worked on a chat line where males rang up to talk about "personal" matters so in my 70s nothing shocks me now!

Do you usually have a lie in on a sunday or keep busy with jobs you missed in the week?

I usually have a lie in and try to chill out although sometimes bitty little jobs that are annoying me creep in.

So far so good and I can still reach them

Did you watch Mary Beard on TV last week? I thought the programme was brilliant but my neighbour ( younger than me) was shocked.
Do you agree with her?

Yes, it does. I tend to stay in on cold winter days, but as soon as the sun shines I want to rush out to enjoy it. And get a load of washing hanging in the garden as soon as possible.

Are your feet good? Do you have regular pedicures, or chiropodist?

FC, dare I say Michael McIntyre? Not fussed on him as a presenter but I loved his humour. I’ll never forget Sarah Millican commenting on the first time she picked up her dog’s poo . . . “No one told me it would be warm!”

Nanna8 yes I love crosswords and other word puzzles. I’m not as good at cryptic ones as I used to be.

Does an unexpected sunny day make you rush to go out, or decide to do washing?

Maybe a little but not cures. I don’t actually trust most of the remedies like that,they are just out to get your money.

Who is your favourite and least favourite stand up comedian?
I am currently waging war on Jimmy Carr.
I think that Eddie Izzard in his early days was probably the best that I’ve seen. Can’t stand him now though!

Sausage and mash with flat beans. DGS is coming round to do his GCSE maths revision and that’s what he likes.

Do you think tablets like Joint Care do any good?

I used to.
I’ve been to Birmingham Art Gallery hundreds of times.
I made an installation of a cave at Derby Museum when I was a student volunteer there.
I’ve taken groups of school children around the Joseph Wright Gallery as I’m a bit of an expert.
(My MA is in 18th century art history)

What’s for dinner (lunch) today?

I tend to eat out with guests now but used to often just cook an old fashioned roast.

Do you enjoy visiting museums and art galleries?

I used to like Gary Rhodes but I don’t watch many cookery programmes now, so don’t have a favourite

Looking through my books, I think it's a fairly even split between the two.

Is there one author whose books you enjoy above all others, and if so who would it be?

I’m not going out today, it’s cold and windy and I’ve had a busy time, hardly here.

Do you read mainly male or female authors?

It would depend. If I was alone, thought I’d broken something and couldn’t do anything except reach for my phone, which fortunately didn’t break in the fall, then yes I would.
If I didn’t think I’d broken anything, I’d ring my DH or my neighbours first.

It’s been pouring down since 7.40am. Would you go out for a walk?

Reasonably ok thank you. Almost fully recovered from my recent fall. Slightly fed up but hanging in there.

If you had a fall would you call ambulance in these difficult times for A&E's? (I didn't).

Have you booked a holiday for this year.?We have been looking at cruises but the prices have shot up so we will wait awhile.

I think he will be gone at some time this year. The sooner the better for everyone.

I haven’t really given it much thought (I hope that doesn’t make me sound stupid/ frivolous. I’ve thought a lot about the crisis, but not about how it will affect me)

I cant save of heating as I am arthritic but Ive already swapped all my lights to low energy ones and only have the light on in the room Im usung.

Yes. My mother's family came from Guernsey, so it's French.

No plans, this is a very quiet road, nothing happens in that way!

Do you have a middle name?

Yes, not badly, but yes, it will affect me to the point where, I will turning down the thermostat for my central heating, unplug all appliances before going to bed. I’ve been quite lack-a-daisy about those things. I now realise I could spend the resulting saving on treats for my little grandchildren.
Are you and your neighbours planning a party, for the Queens Jubilee?

I rarely use my computer, which is quite old now, so would more likely buy a new one than upgrade.

Will the energy rises affect you badly?

I cant remember the last time I ate a hot crossed bun but I prefer the bottom of things like burghers.

Are you using Windows 11 yet (if you have a computer)

I have only just upgraded to 10 from 7 - Im a bit of a Luddite.
