Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

Oh yes. The cat brings them in and lets them go. Ditto frogs.
She’s a lovely cat, she wouldn’t hurt a fly.
We live a similar area, semi rural.
I even had a baby rat in my bedroom once.

What is the stupidest clumsy, daft accident that you have had?
I once managed to almost shut my head in a car door.

Fanny, your last paragraph really made me laugh,I also laughed at your up thread post about the crow…sorry…?

Shinamae Fri 11-Feb-22 19:48:36

First record? Honestly I cannot remember..?

Do you prefer Netflix or Amazon Prime?

FannyCornforth Sat 12-Feb-22 02:47:11

Good question! You are obviously a woman after my own heart.
I have recently been thinking about this, and definitely Amazon Prime.
I think that Netflix is overrated now.
You can also get BritBox with AP, I know that it’s extra £££, but I think it’s worth it.

The crow thing was actually even worse.
I was on my own as DH and our holiday chums had gone to the beach. It totally covered me and I screamed, and there was no one to help me ?
I had to trudge to the toilets (in front of unsympathetic strangers) to get some of it off before I went back to the chalet. It was all black and sticky like treacle.

The head/ car door thing was when I was a teenager.
I was sitting in the passenger seat of my dad’s car, but somehow my head was still semi- outside.
The only way I can explain it was that I had a very long neck.
(My nickname at school was Octavia the Ostrich - I didn’t know it at the time!)

Do you like Cadbury Cream Eggs?
They are being advertised on the radio right now.
I think that they are disgusting

BBbevan Sat 12-Feb-22 06:46:20

Love them, always have, but don’t eat them now. Dark chocolate only.

Is there a chocolate bar you miss? I remember ‘Aztec’ bars. Coconut with cherries. Bliss !

FannyCornforth Sat 12-Feb-22 08:24:30

I liked Cabana bars. They were coconut and cherry too! They were really popular, I wonder why they stopped? It must be cost related.

My mom’s favourite was the Nutty bar. It was covered in peanuts and had a transparent wrapper

Same question please; much missed confectionery

AGAA4 Sat 12-Feb-22 10:57:34

I don't know if I am remembering wrongly but there was a bar with different flavours in each piece of chocolate. It may have been called Fry's 5?

Do you find some delivery people are very helpful and others not at all?

henetha Sat 12-Feb-22 11:05:00

Most of them are helpful. Just occasionally there are one or two who just plonk things at my feet and walk away.

Do you mind going out in the rain? I had a friend once who was really frightened of rain and would never go out in it.
I'm scared of lightning. Are you?

biglouis Sat 12-Feb-22 13:08:51

I mostly go out by taxi so the rain is no problem. I dont like lightening.

Have you taken any stept to cut down your fuel consumption?

Ive turned off the radiators in all but 2 rooms.

hollysteers Sat 12-Feb-22 18:48:16

I’ve turned the heating down, more conscious of lights left on and turn the central heating off when I go out.

Who is your favourite Royal?

AGAA4 Sat 12-Feb-22 21:52:59

The Queen.

How many hours of sleep do you get at night?

Mollygo Sat 12-Feb-22 22:20:58

Varies. Best nights 7 hours, sometimes less than 3 although I could easily sleep on in the morning if I didn’t have to get up for gym or work.

Have you ever tried fleecy bedding?

BBbevan Sun 13-Feb-22 09:16:00

Yes I bought a complete set of Wincyette (?) type bedding for the GDs . They thought it was the best thing ever. So DH wants us to have some now. !!!!

I really fancy some buttery crumpets at the moment. Not that we have any.
Do you often think ‘I’d love a…….?

AGAA4 Sun 13-Feb-22 19:46:56

Yes but I live a long way from the shops and it's always something I haven't got so I do without.

Do you live in a city, town or village?

Grandpajo Mon 14-Feb-22 07:04:11

It's called a village but it is in the centre of a town so not like a rural village.
Are you a morning person or a don't talk to me first thing or I'll growl at you...person

DanniRae Mon 14-Feb-22 10:12:22

Morning person definitely! I feel like going to bed at about 8.30pm but make myself stay up until about 10pm.

What is your favourite radio station? I listen to Magic in the kitchen but Smooth when I am upstairs in my bedroom. No reason - it's what they are tuned to!

BBbevan Mon 14-Feb-22 10:33:20

Classic FM..

What do you do when you have nothing to do? Me? I write

AGAA4 Mon 14-Feb-22 11:20:38

I read, do puzzles and I do like to write but not as often as I used to.

Do you like candles?

Namsnanny Mon 14-Feb-22 11:59:20

Not really, I use tea lights to get rid of cooking smells, but ser candles as a fire hazard or nuisance

What do you fear?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 14-Feb-22 12:11:20

I'm not keen on being under water and especially being carried away by a strong tide and drowning, I like being in a nice hot bath but then I'm in charge.

Do you prefer a bath or a shower?

henetha Mon 14-Feb-22 13:10:19

A shower as there is no bath installed here. If there was I wouldn't be able to climb out of it now.

Are there any palm trees where you live?

AGAA4 Mon 14-Feb-22 13:32:45

No I think it's far too cold here for palm trees.

Are you planning to go abroad this year?

Candelle Mon 14-Feb-22 13:32:54

Not a one.

Have you embraced being grey? I went 'etre naturel' during lock-down (I had a reaction to hair colouring after using it for many years, so lock-down actually helped my growing out process!).

Mollygo Mon 14-Feb-22 17:07:20

No, I haven’t embraced grey, but during lockdown my hairdresser told me what she thought I should use. Sometimes I still do it myself but it’s nice to have a cut and colour session.

Mollygo Mon 14-Feb-22 17:12:03

Forgot a question. What’s your favourite afternoon TV? I’m off this week so I’m looking for suggestions.

hollysteers Mon 14-Feb-22 18:39:53

I can’t watch tv during the daytime, I save it for the evening.

Do you enjoy your own company and long periods alone?
