Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

BBbevan Thu 03-Feb-22 14:08:32

No, I always get on and do it.

If you eat, for example, a hot cross bun, do you prefer the top or the bottom? I prefer the flatter bottom !

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 03-Feb-22 13:20:12

I struggle and need professional help to upgrade. It's beyond me and is so annoying. I've been putting it off but can't procrastinate for much longer.

If procrastination was an Olympic sport would you be fighting me off for the gold medal?

henetha Thu 03-Feb-22 10:40:30

No, because I drink so little that I wouldn't notice the difference.

Do you struggle with technology? I'm hopeless, and would never manage without my two sons to help me.

hollysteers Thu 03-Feb-22 00:00:16

Yes, I frequently travel into the nearest city 20 miles away. No problems but don’t like people near me unmasked.

Did you do dry January?

BBbevan Wed 02-Feb-22 05:51:23

Very quietly I would say. Not going to say anyone as I don't want to tempt fate.

Have you been on a train recently?

FannyCornforth Wed 02-Feb-22 04:03:58

AGA blimey! That was quite a big ‘mistake’ on their behalf!
What a bunch of eejits.
I’ve had a couple of scammy type things; nothing major.
Mind you, I’ve had to block a load of numbers on the landline recently

How is 2022 going for you so far?
Without wanting to speak to soon, this year seems to be being kind to me (personally speaking, obviously the grand scheme of things is a shocker!)

AGAA4 Tue 01-Feb-22 15:40:37

I don't like to see dust so I will always get rid of it but unless I notice it it doesn't get moved.

Have you ever had a worrying text, email or letter. I had an email sent in error this morning threatening to cut off my gas supply. I realised I had paid it last week and checked my account to see if it had been taken but it gave me shock when I first saw it. I rang the company and they told me the accounts dept had sent one to everyone by mistake!

Mollygo Tue 01-Feb-22 12:37:42

Yes I like visiting old properties. We visited lots when the children were younger too. They were fascinated by ruins or furnished buildings. They often asked, “ Can we visit the castle that wasn’t really a castle?” (Castle Drogo built in the early 20th century.

Does the sight of dusty surfaces make you get up and dust or does dust never have time to settle in your house?

BBbevan Tue 01-Feb-22 09:32:12

We have just finished a Scandi Noir ‘ The Legacy’ .Not terribly engaging and a bit silly in places, but I checked out the cast list, so just had to have it.??

We are off to Aberglasney Gardens at the end of the week. Do you like visiting gardens, old properties etc. ?

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Feb-22 08:54:52

NotAGran good luck with your 12 year old Apple Genius! I don’t envy you!

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Feb-22 08:53:53

Book an X-ray for my blasted hip, the first step in getting a replacement (2 years ago it showed ‘wear and tear that you’d expect to see in someone in their 80s’ , so lord knows what it’s like now)
But I’m actually quite excited

Ocado delivery

Look after DH after he’s had his pulmonary rehab at hospital

What is the best Netflix-y type box set that you have enjoyed?

NotAGran55 Tue 01-Feb-22 06:26:33

A trip into town this morning to chat with an Apple genius about a broken laptop ( heaven help me ) and dinner out tonight with family to celebrate son’s 27th birthday.

Same question…

BBbevan Tue 01-Feb-22 05:29:36

I remember walking through the discussed railway tunnels at Beddgelert with my Mother, just after my father had died, and we both turned to each other at the same moment and said' Dad is here's. There was definitely a strong feeling of his presence.

Any exciting plans for today?

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Feb-22 03:25:23

Oh no Molly, you sound very worried thanksbrew

Magpies being very territorial and building nests already. We have far too many magpies around here.

Have you ever had a supernatural experience?
I haven’t

Mollygo Tue 01-Feb-22 03:14:18

No idea. Sleep is a bit elusive these days. Most of my family have just had or have got Covid. It’s like the Sword of Damocles hanging over me.

Snowdrops and crocuses are out already. What signs of spring have you seen?

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Feb-22 01:48:45

No. I hate swimming. For several reasons

Why are you awake?

Allegretto Tue 01-Feb-22 00:25:39

I think my diet is very healthy - lots of fruit and veg and very rarely do I eat anything processed. My biggest downfall is that I like to bake …….
Do you enjoy swimming? I’m not very good at it but I usually manage a few lengths if we are staying in a hotel with a pool. I can’t be bothered with all the faff of going to the local pool just for the sake of it.

hollysteers Mon 31-Jan-22 20:44:36

Just outside Rome.

Would you say you have a healthy diet?

NotAGran55 Mon 31-Jan-22 20:12:14

Season ticket holder of a currently failing championship team ?

Where would your dream location be to own a holiday home?

Mine would be on Sydney Harbour. Not very practical but it is a fantasy question.

BBbevan Mon 31-Jan-22 18:33:45

Yes. Large decking at the front around a large pond. Wide stone flagged paths around the house. They both get very mossy as we have lots of trees. Jet washing is ideal.

Are you a football supporter.? Me, couldn’t care a fig.

biglouis Mon 31-Jan-22 16:53:27

If you are sewing the seed NOW you could use winter green grass seed which is specially formulated to establish itself during the winter months. There are also specific products to repair a patchy lawn such as Miracle Gro Patch Magic.

Do you have a stone flagged patio or decking? My stone flags need a good jetting in spring.

AGAA4 Mon 31-Jan-22 14:00:59

Sorry Henetha don't know how I missed your post.

Mollygo's question now.

Mollygo Mon 31-Jan-22 13:24:57

Henetha, Jam roly poly, yes. Mmmm.
Re going to the dentist, it’s just another job now. The cost is far more scary than the treatment.

I’m going to buy grass seed to repair the lawn where the dog’s been digging. What sort would you recommend?

AGAA4 Mon 31-Jan-22 13:06:40

Yes. I will be making soup later with several portions to be frozen.

How do you feel about a visit to the dentist. Worried? Scared? Or just another job to be done?

henetha Mon 31-Jan-22 12:27:39

Yes sometimes. Shepherds Pie. Stew etc.

Do you ever make old fashioned puds like Spotted Dick,
Jam Roly Poly, etc. ?
