Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Mar-22 11:24:33

Molly what happened?

Holly grin I haven’t heard that hoop saying before!

AGA I don’t really like eating outside.
That said, in the past we have been to a few evening, outdoor concerts; and I enjoyed my picnics there.

What TV are you currently enjoying?

SachaMac Fri 25-Mar-22 13:20:01

Love a picnic, especially on a beautiful day like this & before wasp season kicks in.

What would be your favourite sandwich be for a picnic.

BBbevan Fri 25-Mar-22 14:17:11

Favourite sandwich ….prawn on brown bread

TV Watched Ben Fogle last night in Morocco, which was good, and binged on all of ‘Hidden’.
DH needs sub titles now, do you have them on ?

ginny Fri 25-Mar-22 17:01:12

Luckily I don’t need subtitles unless it’s a foreign language.
I can’t stand them as I find I’m reading them and missing the test of the programme.

I’ve just been out for the day by myself
Lunch Ann a chair in a peaceful spot with a book and my paints.
Do you have days out on your own ?

BBbevan Fri 25-Mar-22 17:11:47

Hardly ever. I have a permanent attachment , Mr.B. Bless him.

We went on the motorway yesterday. Some really dreadful driving. A bit scary. Do you enjoy motorway driving ?

Beanutz2115 Fri 25-Mar-22 18:06:32

I am ok with it if I’m in the right frame of mind. Coming back from work one day -it was late, dark and I was tired. I started to move into the inside lane forcing the other car into the hard shoulder.

BBbevan Fri 25-Mar-22 19:43:04

? Please Beaunuts

DanniRae Sat 26-Mar-22 07:28:20

I dislike being on Motorways as a passenger. I am dealing with passenger anxiety at the moment (I don't mean I am in a car at the moment!) I have sent for a cd of meditations and hope that I can use this to help me.

Has anyone been successful in overcoming this anxiety?

FannyCornforth Sat 26-Mar-22 09:34:36

Sadly no help here whatsoever Danni, I’m a nervous wreck in the car too (ditto elsewhere)

Do you remember your dream from last night?

AGAA4 Sat 26-Mar-22 10:39:12

No but I do have some weird dreams.

Have you ever had someone collapse in front of you on the road while driving. This happened to my DD. She is a nurse so was able to help till the ambulance arrived.

henetha Sat 26-Mar-22 10:39:39

Only vaguely. Something to do with holes in the ground.
To do with Ukraine I think.

Do you like your feet? Do you see a chiropodist regularly?
Do you paint your toenails?

henetha Sat 26-Mar-22 10:41:02

sorry AGAA4.... crossed post.

SachaMac Sat 26-Mar-22 10:54:57

Not in the road AGA4 but I have seen someone collapse in a shopping centre, someone rushed to help but it looked grim.

To Henethas question on feet, mine are ok, I have an occasional pedicure and paint my toes nails when my back allows. I am seriously considering seeing a chiropodist though as I’ve noticed my feet are suffering as I get older, I can’t wear heels now.

Do you ever make your own bread. I’d love to try making sour dough but it seems a bit of a faff.

biglouis Sat 26-Mar-22 15:19:31

Ive never made my own bread - too lazy

Have you ever witnessed a road or traffic accident?

I havnt as I dont drive. However I was once sitting on a bus and I saw a man coughing up huge amounts of blood at the roadside. Ive never forgotten it.

ginny Sat 26-Mar-22 16:10:52

Yes a few. The last one was a month or so ago. Coming off a roundabout , a motorcycle overtook me and was hit by an oncoming car. Nasty.

I’m pleased the clocks go forward tonight are you?

BBbevan Sat 26-Mar-22 19:03:47

Yes but DH says I will spend the next few days saying “ What time is it really?”

I wore a dress today. First time in absolutely ages. Do you prefer trousers or dresses for something special?

Mollygo Sat 26-Mar-22 19:09:12

Clocks going forward!!! Sorry I missed that one!
I wear trousers for most occasions special or not, though I do have a floaty 2piece that I wear occasionally.

Are you going to watch Masterchef?

henetha Sun 27-Mar-22 11:44:31

Yes, definitely. It's a real favourite of mine. I enjoy getting to know the characters as well as the food.

Have you ever been on holiday to somewhere you didn't like?
And swore never to go back there again?

Mollygo Sun 27-Mar-22 16:26:29

Well yes, a place not a whole country. We were in a remote Portuguese villa, and spent 10 days surrounded by forest fires!
Porto was lovely though.

What’s your favourite ‘foreign’ food-eaten here or abroad?

BBbevan Sun 27-Mar-22 16:37:08

A braised beef sandwich with peas and gravy, at an Amish restaurant in Shipshewana USA
.Have you had a special gift today? Mine was lunch at my DDs plus a bag of lovely bath stuff.

SachaMac Sun 27-Mar-22 18:08:45

I had a lovely BBQ lunch with my DS & his family plus flowers, candles, wine and some beautiful indoor hyacinths from my DD’s. Its been much cooler here today so I was pleased I took my coat to the BBQ.

If having a scone in a cafe do you prefer a cheese scone, a fruit scone or a plain scone.
I like a plain one with jam & cream.

DanniRae Mon 28-Mar-22 08:54:09

A fruit scone with jam (first) and cream

What is your go-to cake to make? I make a boiled fruit cake - much more tasty than it sounds and so easy smile

Mollygo Mon 28-Mar-22 10:05:08

Dutch apple cake. No idea why it’s called Dutch but it always works.

On the subject of food, whether you’re a carnivore or vegan, do you prefer sausages fried, grilled or oven baked? I don’t like sausages really, but I prefer them oven-baked.

AGAA4 Mon 28-Mar-22 10:44:12

Oven baked for me but I don't eat sausages very often.

Do you use a dishwasher or hand wash? I have a dishwasher but wash by hand as there aren't many dishes for just me.

FannyCornforth Mon 28-Mar-22 10:58:45

Hand wash.
I’ve got a dishwasher but I use it to store all my Tupperware type stuff; the type of thing that you can never find a lid that fits.
I never wanted the dishwasher, it was a cast off from DH’s son.

What is the biggest waste of space in your house?
The most foolish domestic purchase?
I have form with useless steam mops angry
