Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

hollysteers Mon 28-Mar-22 11:24:46

I had a juicer which became temperamental but was still working well, I was given another, exactly the same and had also bought a hand held smoothie maker I don’t use.

Like a teenager, you are about to put up a poster in your bedroom.
What would it be now?

BBbevan Mon 28-Mar-22 12:04:50

A potato ricer. DH had to have it, and as we eat potatoes once in a blue moon it takes up a lot of space in the bottom drawer.

Are you sleeping later now that the morning is a little darker?

BBbevan Mon 28-Mar-22 12:06:01

What a silly question to ask me Fanny

Same ? as above

crazyH Mon 28-Mar-22 14:25:38

My sleeping habits are awful…..drop off at about 1a.m. and up and about about 9a.m. - it doesn’t change with the seasons

crazyH Mon 28-Mar-22 14:52:59

Same question re sleeping

biglouis Mon 28-Mar-22 15:29:19

No I often wake up as early as 5am and cant get back to sleep. When that happens I just get up anyway, do what I have to do, and go back to bed when I get tired.

Do you get stressed when your waiting for a delivery or pickup and they arew well overdue?

Im waiting for Fedex to pick up a parcel and they usually come before 1pm. Its 3.30 now. The pickup window it til 5.30. Its for a customer in the USA and they need it by friday.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 28-Mar-22 15:31:50

We seem to have missed your question so if I were to put up a poster now hollysteers it would most likely be of a pretty cottage or garden with beautiful roses and hollyhocks.

My sleeping habits are all right, I go up around 11.30-ish and read for a while, then I get up around 7.30-ish.

What do you think is the worst thing about getting older?

SachaMac Mon 28-Mar-22 16:01:03

Losing loved ones & friends

What decade do you feel was the best time of your life, I enjoyed them all in different ways but my 40’s were pretty good all round.

AGAA4 Mon 28-Mar-22 16:09:21

I enjoyed my twenties when my children were little but there have been good bits in every decade.

Have you seen anything unusual when you have been out? On my walk a goose joined me and walked along with me for a while.

BBbevan Mon 28-Mar-22 16:28:52

There was a man on the golf course absolutely hopping mad as he had sent his ball off in a bad direction and then couldn’t find it. It was quite amusing to watch.

Just an apology to hollysteers. I miss read the name on your post about ‘posters’.and thought it was fanny. Which is why you got an odd answer.

Question
Do you study your horoscope or do tarot cards and such .?

crazyH Mon 28-Mar-22 17:24:52

No, I do not. No one or nothing can ever predict what’s going to happen next minute, never mind your entire future.

I’m sneezing and feeling rather rough - what do you take, when you feel the signs of a cold coming on? I’ve had this for a couple of days.

biglouis Tue 29-Mar-22 01:22:28

I wait to see how it develops since you cant prevent it. I use an old fashioned remedy called Olbas oil to clear my head and that stuffed up feeling. You can make it into an inhalent with hot water or put a bit on the pillow when you sleep. Also warm drinks with paracetamol for the feverish colds.

If pets were compulsory what would you have?

Id have a tortoise. Had them in the past and they are brilliant pets. They are quiet, dont need to be taken for walks, and just need to be kept clean and in a safe enclosure. Also many varieties sleep from October to March.

Mollygo Tue 29-Mar-22 03:12:37

I have a tortoise, inherited from some neighbours in the 1980s. They said he’d belonged to their Mum. I don’t know how old he is exactly, but he’s a lot less work than the dog, I’d have a dog though. Good for exercise and loves unconditionally.

What do you do when you’re awake in the middle of the night? I used to iron-now I read.

BBbevan Tue 29-Mar-22 06:54:38

I have a Kindle beside the bed so I read or play Solitaire.

What made you smile yesterday?

AGAA4 Tue 29-Mar-22 08:17:13

My 2 year old GS chasing bubbles from the bubble maker.

What is the next thing you are looking forward to?

BBbevan Tue 29-Mar-22 09:04:53

How lovely AGAA4 ???

biglouis Tue 29-Mar-22 10:37:39

I look forward to having 4 weeks away from my online business to just chill. Ive just closed all my online shops.

Do you have any family activities/outings planned for Easter weekend?

hollysteers Tue 29-Mar-22 11:46:10

Not yet, but granddaughter will be here as home from university.

Do you have lots of family photos around the house and do you like them in particular frames?

AGAA4 Tue 29-Mar-22 12:15:39

Yes. I have lots of photos of my GCs mostly. My ACs often send me framed photos.

Have you put away winter clothes yet?

FannyCornforth Wed 30-Mar-22 05:36:56

Not really, as I don’t really have cold weather clothes, as I don’t go out and I don’t feel the cold and get warm very easily.
I’m more of a layers person.

Which singer or musician do you think is overrated?
I’ve always thought that Elton John is massively overrated; and more recently Ed Sheeran too

BBbevan Wed 30-Mar-22 07:02:45

Cliff Pilchard.

Which supermarket do you prefer. Here in Wales it is miles to a Waitrose or Sainsburys, so we have to make do with Tesco.

Something fishy about your autocorrect? ???

My favourite is Booths. ASDA is my most frequently used. Their ‘home made’ bread and rolls stays fresher than Sainsbury's, which is often dry by the time you get it home.
I have to go to Sainsbury's once a fortnight though as their own brand grapefruit juice is cheaper and still comes in Litres instead of the 850ml that Tropicana give you. Sorry if that’s TMI.

If you use a weather app like BBC, do you ever look at weather forecasts in other countries?

BBbevan Wed 30-Mar-22 14:15:39

Mollygo at the moment we get Sainsburys deliveries. Nearest Sainsburys is in Swansea, so an hours drive for us. Otherwise it is Morrison or Tesco in Carmarthen.

Since I have no phone at the mo, no apps. But I do use DHs and yes I check Norway weather !!!!!

Did you do ballet or tap as a child?

AGAA4 Wed 30-Mar-22 15:51:40

I had ballet lessons when I was about five but didn't last long. I was bored after a while.

Do you have milk deliveries?

crazyH Wed 30-Mar-22 16:11:37

No - not since 1974

Today is my ‘energetic’ -pday - I haven’t stopped since morning - soaked all my stainless steel oven racks overnight in Ovenpride. This morning, rinsed them - such a pleasure to find the baked-on bits just fall off. Wiped and dried the racks. Then unscrewed the glass off the oven doors - ( used that same stuff last night) - washed the glass under the tap. Dried it and screwed it back on to the oven door. My oven looks like new.
Then cleaned the fridge today. I feel such a high achiever ……..? Then made garlic mushrooms and having that on toast for an early tea. And will probably treat myself to a take-away supper
And…my question is- do you have days like this ☝️
