Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Mar-22 08:18:02

Yes. I listen to the radio all day.
LBC, Radio 4, sometimes Radio 5.
Haven’t watched the news on tv for over 20 years.
I don’t like to see distressing images

Do you have a newspaper every day?
We have the dreaded Daily Mail and The Times.
I used to love the Guardian, but it’s too expensive to justify

AGAA4 Tue 15-Mar-22 08:14:26

No but if I want to lose weight I can do it myself.

Do you keep up with the news during the day?

SachaMac Mon 14-Mar-22 15:45:05

I love Granchester, the new series has just started. The only soap I watch is Eastenders, which I’ve recently got back into.

Have you ever joined a slimming club.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 14-Mar-22 15:12:48

After the usual ablutions I prepare fruit for breakfast and veg for lunch - it's a bit of a bore and it helps to get them done first thing so I can then do other things which are more enjoyable.

For those with square eyes like me, what's your favourite TV programme at the moment?

biglouis Mon 14-Mar-22 12:01:46

My sister used to like fish finger sandwiches with salad cream!

Whats the first thing you do on waking (after wash/dress and the usual bathroom things)

Mine is to check email. If there are any business problems I can decide over breakfast how to deal with them. This morning 2 customers wanted info on where their parcels were despite having a tracking number available. I dont know what they are going to do next month when I close all my shops.

AGAA4 Mon 14-Mar-22 11:46:27

I do like fish but don't have any recipes as I just season it and bake it.

Same question. Anyone else got a fish recipe?

henetha Mon 14-Mar-22 11:00:09

I was born a couple of years before WW2.

Do you like fish? I actually like fish fingers, and it's a cheap way of eating fish. Naked fish is so expensive these days. Any tips for fish recipes?

Walk in the local sand dunes.

Tell me you are old without telling me your age.

BBbevan Mon 14-Mar-22 10:26:14

I am usually awake long before DH, so I do a few card games on my kindle and read GN posts. He makes tea when he wakes.

Lovely here today and I have already been down the garden, planted some fennel in the greenhouse and put the bean sticks up.
What does a lovely spring day make you want to do ?

crazyH Mon 14-Mar-22 09:56:33

High temperatures mean sun, and a sunny day always makes me happy

I’m not one who must have a hot cup of tea, on waking. Gransnet and the DailyMail are the first things I check. What about you?

Mollygo Mon 14-Mar-22 08:22:30

Laburnum and grass pollen and anything I don’t want to eat!?

There’s evidently going to be temperatures of 20° In the UK in April. No idea which parts of the UK, but that’s what it said on the news. Does that make you happy or do you prefer it to be cooler?

hollysteers Mon 14-Mar-22 00:48:48

I fell down the stairs on a double decker bus ending up with my tights torn round my bleeding legs on a first date as a teenager (no serious damage done)

Have you any allergies?

AGAA4 Sun 13-Mar-22 19:36:30

I used to do a lot of embroidery but when I was working and had a family I didn't get time. I should take it up again.

Have you ever done anything silly in public? On Saturday I spilt my jug of milk in Costa. It went all over my trousers, the tray and the floor. ?

Esmay Sun 13-Mar-22 19:20:11

I like white sandals if I have a tan .

I usually apply fake tan and its hard to get it to look non streaky on my feet .

Does anyone enjoy embroidery and beading ?

crazyH Sun 13-Mar-22 18:43:49

No - self taught

Do you wear white sandals in summer ?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 13-Mar-22 16:05:23

I learned to knit as a child but never really got the hang of crochet. I bet your granny squares will look good when they're done, SachaMac.

Did you learn to type at school?

SachaMac Sun 13-Mar-22 12:54:44

I grow radishes and spring onions from seed and sweat peas & nasturtiums. If I had a greenhouse I’d grow more. I tend to buy trays of seedlings from the local nursery.

Do you knit or crochet or would you like to learn. (I’m just learning how to do granny squares)?

henetha Sun 13-Mar-22 11:22:15

Not just yet. I think it's a little early. I rarely plant out summer bedding plants until May... depending on the weather.

Do you often grow flowers, or veg, from seed?

Mollygo Sun 13-Mar-22 09:22:31

Yes, the i, except Sundays. We can get it delivered and pay by bank transfer so I suppose we’re lucky. I like it better than constantly reading news on my iPad and if doing puzzles is a good brain workout I can spend ages on the wide variety offered and share them with DH.

The supermarkets are full of flowers for planting out. When would you start?

BBbevan Sun 13-Mar-22 04:41:03

I have always made a meal plan as I eat low carb. However DH does like branded goods so they are being surreptitiously removed for supermarket own brand. He hasn't noticed yet !

Do you have a daily newspaper. We used to but it is too far to the newsagent now and I do miss it ?

biglouis Sun 13-Mar-22 00:10:00

Monty Python. I used to laugh so much it made me ill. My parents simply did not GET it.

Have you made a meal plan or food budget to save money?

I have a list drawn up of my Tesco delivery purchases and rarely deviate from it. I just copy it from week to week but this week I cut out several more expensive things.

crazyH Sat 12-Mar-22 23:02:27

Into the mind of my ‘difficult’ daughter.

Which TV comedy programme has made you laugh the most.? Mine is ‘Some Mothers do have them?

hollysteers Sat 12-Mar-22 22:09:36

I love scent and still use that old lady’s scent Youth Dew (sparingly…)? but my current favourite is anything with a citrus/lime scent.

If you were invisible for a day, where would you go?

AGAA4 Sat 12-Mar-22 15:11:58

A friend gave me an artificial orchid set in glass but apart from that I prefer fresh flowers.

Do you wear perfume? I don't now but used to like the light flowery scents.

SachaMac Sat 12-Mar-22 12:45:21

I like that too, I also add frozen raspberries to the raspberry sugar free jelly & then when set add a dollop of Greek yoghurt on top.

Do you have any artificial flowers or just buy fresh ones.
