LIMERICKS 17 (contd)

I wandered along the seashore
And saw something not seen before!
A strange animal
Which, though minimal
Made me turn around and say "Cor!"

The forest was dark green and cool

The forest was dark green and cool
But I’m sure I spotted a mule

The forest was dark green and cool
But I’m sure I spotted a mule
Or a wolf? Something worse?

It’s hostels, not hotels for me
A cold wash, and an urnful of tea

Whoops, forget that one...

The forest was dark green and cool
But I’m sure I spotted a mule
Or a wolf? Something worse?
An enema nurse?

The forest was dark green and cool
But I’m sure I spotted a mule
Or a wolf? Something worse?
An enema nurse?
In a forest, no, I’m a fool

Whenever I go to the coast

Whenever I go to the coast
It’s a swim that I enjoy most

Whenever I go to the coast
It’s a swim that I enjoy most
In the cool, blue sea

Whenever I go to the coast
It's a swim that I enjoy the most
In the cool, blue sea
My doggie and me

Whenever I go to the coast
It's a swim that I enjoy the most
In the cool, blue sea
My doggie and me
But the house that we're in has a ghost!

Daytimes are fine, but each night

Daytimes are fine, but each night
I’m happy to turn down the light

Daytimes are fine, but each night
I’m happy to turn down the light
But then come my fears

Daytimes are fine, but each night
I’m happy to turn down the light
But then come my fears
From the screeches and scares

Daytimes are fine, but each night
I’m happy to turn down the light
But then come my fears
From the screeches and scares
And noises that give me a fright

We now have passed the shortest day

We now have passed the shortest day
Longest for us,so far away

We now have passed the shortest day
Longest for us,so far away,
Lightness is ahead

We now have passed the shortest day
Longest for us,so far away,
Lightness is ahead
We can get out of bed

We now have passed the shortest day
Longest for us,so far away,
Lightness is ahead
We can get out of bed
When darkness fades shortly after May

Just hours to count till Christmas Day

Just hours to count till Christmas Day
Then it was here, now gone away

Just hours to count till Christmas Day
Then it was here, now gone away
So Boxing day's here

Just hours to count till Christmas Day
Then it was here, now gone away
So Boxing Day's here
Let's be of good cheer

It’s hostels, not hotels for me
Or visiting friends, which is free

Just hours to count till Christmas Day
Then it was here, now gone away
So Boxing Day's here
Let's be of good cheer
Though for the expense we’ll now pay
