Hello! ?

By my reckoning, this thread will see us through until we are near to C********!

SachaMac’s question was ‘if you could travel back to any time or place for one day, where / when would it be’?

I’m still mulling it over…

DanniRae Fri 16-Sept-22 07:34:29

To see my mum and dad again just for a day .......

Same question please

biglouis Fri 16-Sept-22 16:19:28

To sit with my grandmother and sew or embroider for one more sunday afternoon.

Have you ever done a charge back on a debit or credit card?

Have done it 3 times when someone over charged me!

ginny Fri 16-Sept-22 20:43:02

Not that I can remember.

Years ago I had to wait over an hour after my appointment time on several occasions. Then I was caught in traffic and was 10 minutes late and was told I would not be seen. I refused to leave until my appointment was carried out.

Have you ever done ?

hollysteers Fri 16-Sept-22 23:16:11

Fingers crossed, not so far.

Babies names you nearly used, but didn’t?
(Rupert)

biglouis Sat 17-Sept-22 00:18:21

I have no children by choice so I cant answer that.

Same question as above.

MrsKen33 Sat 17-Sept-22 06:14:36

Miles, for my son. He is very tall so it might have been appropriate.
What can you see out of your bedroom window?
Me ,treetops and a rookery

ginny Sat 17-Sept-22 07:02:44

Right now I can see the tops CN of several houses and trees and an overcast sky.

We are going to a local food fare today.
Do you enjoy local events ?

Mollygo Sat 17-Sept-22 11:38:23

Yes-especially those that have home made cakes and fruit and plants.

It says it’s 16° here, but there’s a really sneaky wind.
Is it ‘wear a coat’ weather where you are?

biglouis Sat 17-Sept-22 11:45:45

Yes - I went into the garden just now in just a kaftan and regretted it! Real nip in the air here in the north.

Have you got any clothes out for autumn/winter yet?

I dont go out much but have got a furry poncho ready!

MrsKen33 Sat 17-Sept-22 13:16:50

Yes , washed a few ready for the cold weather, and have put away my shorts etc. Bit nippy here.

Do you keep a light on in the house at night?

HowVeryDareYou Sat 17-Sept-22 13:28:58

No, we never leave a light on at night - apart from the rare occasion when we go somewhere, then I leave a lamp (and tv) on for the cat grin

What type of music do you like to listen to? I like several, but prefer rock or metal

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 17-Sept-22 14:16:53

I love to listen to pop (Beatles, etc), rock (Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc) and easy listening (Matt Monro, Johnny Mathis, etc) and many more.

Same question again please.

MrsKen33 Sat 17-Sept-22 15:41:15

Leonard Cohen at the moment

Same again please

biglouis Sat 17-Sept-22 15:55:17

For background listening my taste is quite varied - pop, easy listening, country n western, and often Asian net on the radio (even though I dont know what they are singing about).

Have you begun planning anything for the dreaded "C" festival yet? They are already selling mince pies in Tesco!

NotAGran55 Sat 17-Sept-22 17:01:38

Absolutely not! I won’t even think about it until December.

Do you give yourself manicures?
I do, and have just done so whilst listening to the radio and my football ⚽️ team winning ?

HowVeryDareYou Sat 17-Sept-22 17:56:38

I give myself manicures and have got about a dozen different colours of nail polish. Today, cerise. Up until the lockdown, I bit my nails all the time. Now, they're not long but a reasonable length.

Do you watch Netflix? I recently watched KIRI, starring Sarah Lancashire - what a disappointing ending

crazyH Sat 17-Sept-22 18:08:58

Yes I do watch Netflix -my recent watch was Sins of the Mother - true life documentary- I’m not into fiction.
Four of us (neighbours ) are having our monthly Indian take-away. 2 of us are divorced and 2 widowed. Do you and your neighbours get together regularly?

biglouis Sat 17-Sept-22 22:51:38

I have long had a bad relationship with my neighbour. We have not spoken for 3 years since my nephew and big mate scared her off with a "less than friendly" visit.

Have you watched the live feed on the TV?

hollysteers Sat 17-Sept-22 22:57:00

Off and on. I’m finding it quite hard to concentrate on films or other shows whilst there is so much Royal stuff.

Did you like the Queen’s fashion style in her last years?

FannyCornforth Sun 18-Sept-22 01:45:53

I think all those garish suits and matching hats were just her work uniform.
She wore such bright colours so that she was easily visible to the public.
I’m sure that she looked much nicer in her mufti, like in her last photo. I do love a cardigan.
In fact I’ve just bought a few new ones.
I’ve noticed that more women in the public eye are wearing a uniform, much like me do with their suits.
Angela Merkel and Nicola Sturgeon spring to mind.
I’m waffling again…

What was the last item of clothing that you bought?

FannyCornforth Sun 18-Sept-22 01:46:39

Men and suits, not me and suits ?

MrsKen33 Sun 18-Sept-22 06:14:34

Pair of DM shoes for the winter.

Do you sometimes think,I shouldn’t buy that, I’m to old?

FannyCornforth Sun 18-Sept-22 08:18:22

Ooh, are they real DM’s? I once bought some mustard DM boots, but they had to go straight back as they were so uncomfortable. I couldn’t even stand up in them!

No, never - and neither should you!

Do you know what your ‘season’ is, colouring-wise?
Do you follow the guidance as to which colours you wear?

Mollygo Sun 18-Sept-22 08:25:53

Sorry I’m answering the one before last. Yes, but only when it comes to really expensive perfume. I love Paco Rabanne new Fame perfume and the amazing bottle. It just seems an unnecessary luxury.

I had my colours ‘done’ and was told I should wear bottle green and brown which I don’t feel I look good in, but not blue or navy blue. Since most of my clothes were blue that was disappointing. Evidently I ought to wear russet which I found out I really liked, so not a totally wasted visit. I get round the problem by wearing a lot of white tops with different coloured scarves.

Same question.

NotAGran55 Sun 18-Sept-22 08:43:16

I’m ‘autumn’ colouring and always wear the right colours that suit me. Some autumn colours are better than others, but I never deviate. Why would you choose something that doesn’t suit?
The only exception I would ever make would be for a funeral if the dress code had to be black. I would need to buy an outfit in that case.

Do you enjoy doing your hair? I do, I wash and style it everyday.
