I'm a bit remote for having food sent in. I can't imagine one of those delivery bikes with huge boxes trundling their way out here.
I do love a Chinese take away though and occasionally venture forth and get one. Sweet and sour chicken... Curry... yum.

Do you use your local library? Or is there a mobile one around your way?

My favourite is Chinese, I don’t have one very often but when I do I tend to go for the same dish, boring I know but I love it. It’s called Sweet Phoenix, basically chicken with pineapple, cashew nuts and lots of lovely crispy peppers in a delicious sauce.

Do you decorate your house for Autumn?

I made an Autumn wreath at a craft class the other night which is now on my front door and I have brought a couple of nice Autumnal looking candles.

Not usually but a few years ago I knitted some pumpkins for DD and she puts them in a bowl on the kitchen table. Otherwise it’s just vases of leaves and Michaelmas daisies.

My friend says she finds autumn depressing. What is your view?

No, I don’t find it depressing but wish the moderate temperature of a few weeks ago remained. I too like cosy evenings and particularly heavy rain when I have my throw, book and tv to hand.
henetha I use my local library to study as I can concentrate there, but don’t borrow as so many books here.

I had quite distinct phases:

Who was your best friend when you were a teenager?

The boy next door when I was young. He was my only real friend. In my later teens I met a girl of the same age and we remained friends until her death about ten years ago.

Do you have lots of aunts and uncles, cousins etc? I don't have any and wonder how it feels.

I had 3 aunts and uncles on my dad's side, but because he (my dad) fell out with them when I was about 8, we didn't see them (or my cousins) again. Mum's sister and husband moved house a lot (he was in the forces) so we didn't see them.

Have you got siblings still alive?

I have one brother who is 5 years older than me.

We enjoy sharing a meal with friends. We either eat out or provide a course each at home.
How do you socialise with friends ?

No, my darling brother died at 67 and I have no other siblings.

Did you love your grandparents more than your parents? Or both equally?

I loved my grandmother far more (grandpa died early).

Almost equally, I adored both sets of grandparents & loved spending time with them. As soon as I walked through my dads parents front door I felt totally at home, safe and cherished. As much as I love my mum, she could be a little capricious at times, my dad was easy going. My Grandma was always very knowledgable, calm & kind, she was quite strict but never shouted at us. My mums parents were much younger and led busier lives but were lovely hard working people and great characters, I just loved being in their company. Still miss them all.

Have you ever had your fortune told or visited a medium. I haven't & doubt I would but a close friend has, she had a consultation with the medium that Diana & Dodi visited.

A relative used to be a spiritualist medium and I attended a few of her meetings. They were quite unnerving and I never went back after that. Wont go into detail but there is definitely something "there". I also read the tarot and have a collection of different packs.

Have you ever been attacked by a dog (or other animal).

I was attacked by my aunt's dog as a child of about 7. More bruised than bitten. The poor thing was having fits and had to be put to sleep.

My sister & I were sitting in the back of my grandads car with their little dog while he nipped to do an errand. It suddenly started snarling & turned on us for no reason, as we raced to get out of the car it was hanging on the bottom of my skirt going crazy. We were terrified but luckily as it was only a small poodle no real harm was done. I have always owned & loved dogs but that one was a real nasty piece of work.

I flew to Tangier at age 19. Morocco was an unusual place to visit then. I was a nervous flyer but just got used to it over the years.

Have you ever been involved with a scam or attempted scam involving your bank account?

I was at the beginning of the pandemic. Wont go into detail but the scammers took £350 from my bank then tried for £900 but the bank blocked it. I was refunded the entire amount in due course. I have to be very careful as I make and recieve many international bank transfers for my business.

Yes. DH’s debit card was cloned and the they managed to spend around £2,000.
They went to lots of little shops and bought fags, booze and petrol.
The bank were absolutely brilliant. They spotted the unusual behaviour straight away and we got everything back immediately.
The thieves got caught within a week at Tescos.
We think that it was cloned at a little independent petrol station.

Biglouis I agree with you about mediums. I think most are charlatans, but I think some really are legitimate, one way or another.
A friend’s cousin is a famous one, and a really nice chap.
But I don’t understand it, and it scares me silly too.
I read quite a bit about Tarot a few years back, but couldn’t get into in like I wanted to.

I did a second degree through OU in my early 40s. Hard going as I had two teenagers, DH and I worked full time. But enjoyable all the same.
Do you still have your groceries delivered as in lockdown? Or are you out and about completely now.?

‘Morning Ken. Wow, that’s impressive. I can’t imagine how people manage to work full time with kids of any age full stop.
I assume that you were teaching too, which works out as more than full time.

I’ve only just started going to ships in the past couple of months due to my hip and mobility issues.
I went to Aldi yesterday and wasn’t overly impressed with the food.
But I do intend to use it for laundry and cleaning stuff etc.
I used Ocado before and during lockdown and hip things, and I’ll continue to do so for a lot of things.
