Hello! ?

By my reckoning, this thread will see us through until we are near to C********!

SachaMac’s question was ‘if you could travel back to any time or place for one day, where / when would it be’?

I’m still mulling it over…

Plain biscuit - rich tea

I just can’t drink tea without a biscuit - I don’t dunk it but have a nibble and then a sip - what about you ?

MrsKen33 Sat 15-Oct-22 05:48:27

Sorry no biscuit at all. Very rarely have one but shortbread is a favourite.

Thought of a really good question yesterday but now can’t remember it,.
So can we continue with the biscuits please?

FannyCornforth Sat 15-Oct-22 06:28:00

I’m a bit ‘all or nothing’ when it comes to biscuits (and other things).
I don’t just have one or two.
I really like M&S sultana cookies, and the pistachio ones too.
Border biscuits, shortbread, chocolate malted milk, ooh, lots and lots really.

Favourite childhood sweets?
I liked those chocolate drops with little rainbow sprinkles.
And sherbet UFO’s.
And those parma violets in a little box that you got from the chemist for some reason

MrsKen33 Sat 15-Oct-22 07:05:11

Coconut mushrooms.

Same question please. I’m being lazy today .

henetha Sat 15-Oct-22 10:46:28

Sherbet lemons. And anything chocolate.

Did you go to children's Saturday morning cinema? I went to one in the morning and another in the afternoon. It was brilliant.

biglouis Sun 16-Oct-22 00:37:24

Not in the morning but every saturday afternoon with a gang from our street. I used to love Flash Gordon, and Zorro but was not keen on the westerns.

Do you like fantasy series like House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones or prefer something closer to reality?

I love SF and fantasy.

FannyCornforth Sun 16-Oct-22 04:24:46

No, I’ve never been a fan of fantasy or Sci Fi. In fact, I actively avoid it.
I quite fancy watching Game of Thrones though, for the cinematography.
I do like dragons too.

I collected dragons when I was a young girl.
Did you collect anything?

MrsKen33 Sun 16-Oct-22 06:54:59

Good morning Fanny

Jewels, I think. I had a box and swapped some with friends.

We went to DDs last evening for a curry. It was marvellous.
Are you a curry fan , or Chinese or Thai or something other?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 16-Oct-22 09:07:48

No, I've never been a fan of spicy food of any description, though I don't object to a little garlic in French, Spanish or Italian food. Fish and chips are my favourite instant meal.

Are you a fan of Strictly? It's not my cup of tea, but if you are, would you go on it if you had the chance?

henetha Sun 16-Oct-22 13:36:10

Yes, I'm a big fan. Would I go on it? Um... yes, when I was younger I would have. Those lovely dresses, the gorgeous professional dancers, it would be a fantastic experience.
But not now.

Have you ever been on any television programme? I did, in 1980. Or have you been in the audience when they were making/recording a programme?

Mollygo Sun 16-Oct-22 14:14:57

Yes, on Question Time twice, but I was only able to put a question once.
I’d like to have been in the audience for I’m Sorry I haven’t a Clue or Billy Connolly’s performance.

What program would you like to be/have been in the audience for?

hollysteers Sun 16-Oct-22 21:38:21

Kenneth Williams on Parkinson.

What would be your desert island dish? (Sausage and mash)

SachaMac Sun 16-Oct-22 22:06:43

It would have to be a roast beef & Yorkshire Puds (homemade not frozen)

Is there a chocolate bar or sweets (no longer available) that you enjoyed as a child that you would quite like to see back? (It’s the Milk Tray Bar for me)

biglouis Mon 17-Oct-22 01:00:12

I liked the orange flavour Frys cream bars - they did bring them back when the compaby was overtaken by Nestle but they were not the same.

Has anyone in your family ever stolen money from you?

When I lived at with my parents I often had the impression that the odd few coins had disappeared from my purse. However I could never be 100% sure. Once two pound went missing out of my drawer. It created a very tense atmosphere. That was when I stopped keeping money at home and kept it in my gran's house. I never knew whether it was my mother or my sister.

FannyCornforth Mon 17-Oct-22 03:20:41

No. Nothing like that

You’re invited to a Fancy Dress Party! ?

Are you pleased? Will you go? Who will you go as?

I think that I’ll be going as Boy George or Elizabeth I

I hardly ever go to parties, but when (if) I get there I really enjoy myself.
I love dressing up.
I miss that about working in Primary, there were lots of opportunities to dress up.

3dognight Mon 17-Oct-22 03:34:24

I would go as a pantomime horse, but I would need another half!

Do you carry cash in your purse or use your card for all purchases?

SachaMac Mon 17-Oct-22 08:33:17

I try to have a little cash in my purse, but not usually more than £10 -£20. I pay the window cleaner in cash and if I call on the local market for fruit & veg use cash there.

Do you set an alarm for around the same time every day or not bother &!just wake up naturally?
Now I’m retired I only set mine if I have to be up and out really early.

biglouis Mon 17-Oct-22 11:36:35

I only set an alarm when I have to be awake for some particular reason. Normally I just sleep when Im tired and wake naturally.

Were you ever bullied by an older or bigger child in school?

I was until my father taught me how to box and I broke the older boy's nose. Never got bullied again.

ginny Tue 18-Oct-22 07:33:23

No I wasn’t but we experienced it with our middle DD. One girl became jealous of her dancing and acting abilities and gathered a group of other girls who made DDs life a misery at school for a few months. Sorted in the end but awful to see the effects.

I have an appointment for a gel manicure today.
Do you have your nails done or do you
do them yourself ?

MrsKen33 Tue 18-Oct-22 09:14:47

To much gardening to do my nails, but they are clean and nicely shaped. Strangely I find nail polish heavy on my fingers…

What is your favourite bread.? Mine at the moment is Lidi’s low GI.

Mollygo Tue 18-Oct-22 09:20:05

ASDA Tiger bread. We rarely have it because ASDA isn’t local.

Have you ever bought a cheese or other food just because you liked the sample the shop offered you?

biglouis Tue 18-Oct-22 12:25:19

No because Ive shopped online for 15 years.

Have you ever impulse bought flowers or a plant while out shopping for something else?

I used to buy a lot of house plants on impulse.

Mollygo Tue 18-Oct-22 16:16:49

No, because it would be unkind to plants, with my lack of green fingers.

Same question please.

MrsKen33 Tue 18-Oct-22 16:26:41

Not on impulse, but we do have a lot. Swiss cheese plant taking over the living room .

Do you watch afternoon television ?

LadyHonoriaDedlock Tue 18-Oct-22 16:34:24

Not if I can help it but my job requires me to from time to time.

If you could go for a week's holiday anywhere you like, with all your travel and other expenses paid for, where would you go?
